Gem CTN questions

Hello All...

We are a large grouped booked on the 1-2-10 CTN out of NY. I have a few questions and was wondering if anyone could help?

First, when and how do they do the muster drill?

Second, how was it in general?

Third, has anyone ever booked a cocktail reception on board with the open bar option?

Thanks for the advice and help!

We did 2 - 1 day CTNs on the Gem in 2009. Both were a ton of fun. Beware they were crowded and people are trying to do as much as possible in the limited time. Needless to say we didn't get much sleep. We are actually considering going on this one, kind of a New Year's celebration.

As for your questions:

1 - For the 1 days we had no muster drill. Hooray. Apparently the rule is they have to have the muster drill within 24 hrs, but on the 1 day sadly you aren't on that long.

2 - Fun and crazy. Good food, good show, crowded but fun casino. Plus leaving from NYC is always amazing, the city, the Statue of Liberty, the Veranzano. Dress warm for sail away.

3 - Sorry, never did that.

We've been on the Gem several times this year so if you have any questions just ask.

I wish they were more affordable like they were a few years ago-

especially on the 1 night- by the time you get on its time to get off

On by noon off before 10am at a price of over 200pp. and its cold so no swimming or getting out on the deck- bet the insides are really crowded.

(never did one in the winter)

did one for a weekend and it rained the whole time-- it was fun and boy was it crowded.
