Ft. Lauderdale-Miami Transportation

Arriving Ft.Lauderdale airport day before cruise. Need any suggestions for transportation from airport to Miami hotel and also from Port of Miami back to Ft. Lauderdale airport after cruise.

Are there any Miami area hotels that shuttle you from Ft. Lauderdale airport?

I use Go Transportation out of FLL to any Miami hotel. It cost around 25 dollars per person. Cheaper than a cab if there are only two of you. I did hear about on my last cruise a rail system that takes you to Miami...but not directly to a hotel.

 

Getting back to FLL from the ship...you can purchase a bus transfer for 25 dollars per person also. The buses leave at a designated time off the ship and you must get a certain color luggage tag for debarkation. On my last cruise, the tags were called at 8:30am.

 

A cab ride can run anywhere between 70-100 dollars depending on traffic and destination.

On past cruises, I have used SAS Transportation. The driver called my cell shortly after I landed and they had their vans at the port waitng on the return. January 09 it was $15.00 each way.

Last October we actually stayed at a Ft. Lauderdale hotel a couple of nights before our cruise and then the morning of the cruise used this car service and they picked us up right at the scheduled time and took us to the pier in Miami. They were wonderful. We used their SUV service which with tip was $100.00 basically (including the tip), but they do have a sedan option that is $59.00 plus tip.

You can take a city bus from the FLL to MIA airports - if your miami hotel has free shuttles from MIA you can get to your hotel for a couple of bucks!
