gotohoro Posted August 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2009 Greetings, My family and I will be cruising Northern Europe (Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Tallinn, Gdansk, & Oslo) with Princess in a few weeks. We will be taking the ship excursions each day. Was wondering - do we need to pick up foreign currency before we leave? And, do we need currency for every country we visit? Thanks much, Gotohoro
moyaroo Posted August 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2009 I would not pickup currency prior to leaving home. It will cost too darn much. The Baltic is the least currency friendly place in Europe as it is the only place where the Euro is not the major force. Try to pay with credit cards where ever possible. You have a different currency in every port and will be subject to bad exchange rates on the ship. Usually you are unable to exchange coins UGH. Spare change is welcomed by the crew as they will be back in the port and will be able to spend it. (except Rubles because crew access to the port is limited and sometimes curtailed so they may not be able to use rubles.)
