cei3 Posted December 29, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2004 Is there political unrest there? Are cruise ships still going there? Thanks for any info!
Rare GaryWT Posted December 31, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2004 I have read that they are stopping, I know they stopped a few months back. We will be there in April.
riz Posted December 31, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 31, 2004 I was there in July on the Mariner...we at the time were surprised they were still stopping there but were told they stopped for a month or so and then carried on business as usual. Quite frankly, you really don't see any of Haiti - it is a fully fenced off area meant to feel like a private island.
shipper Posted January 1, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2005 If you walk down to the "end" of the private beach you would see that a non passenger would not be able to enter the area at all. It is similar to a private resort only passengers are allowed in. I do believe that after the storms this summer that many of the islands were closed for a while during the clean up. Jobro2 Posted January 8, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2005 If passengers are not allowed "out", does that mean that any unrest is kept "out" of passenger area also??? This makes me a tad bit nervous..
