ogtiger10 Posted August 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2009 We are a family of 6, 1 teen (16), 3 adults (19, 48, 51) , and 2 senior adults (68, 70). The four younger ones have never been to Belize. Can't decide whether we should tour Belize & the ruins or take an active excursion, like snorkeling/beach or tubing. I don't want to go to Belize but never see the country, but we don't want to just ride around in a tour for 4 hours or more. We love to do activities. The 2 younger ones are boys & hate to ride around in a tour group. What would you suggest?
lovestwocruise Posted August 23, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2009 We did the cave tubing. Can't say enough about it, it was great. The water was clam and the kids had a blast. We booked outside the ship and got to do three caves instead of two. The extra time was great.

This is a great excursion combining a nice river cruise on the New River, an "Indiana Jones" moment when you see the top of the first pyramid above the jungle from your boat, a tasty Mayan lunch, troops of Howler Monkeys in the trees, a small museum, and a tour of the ruins (climbing was allowed). All in all, something for everyone. We loved it. Another option is to head to the Cays for snorkeling or diving. The world's second largest barrier reef runs the length of the coast. If you can't decide, perhaps split into groups - water and land. Belize has a lot to offer and I hope you enjoy it.
