Can on board credits be used towards tips?

I have $100 of on board credit for my upcoming RC sailing. Can I use this $100 to put towards tips at the end of the cruise? I'm really not going to buy much while on board (no alcohol, no soda, no spa)... so I thought that this might be good use of the credit.

 

If this is OK, I assume that I'd just need to let the Purser know & then make up the $36.50 difference with my SeaPass/VISA? ($100 + $36.50 = $136.50 for 2 people for 7 days)

I'd be quite shocked if you didn't rack up more than $100 during your cruise, but if you do accomplish to keep your onboard spendings at $0, let me know how you did it;)!

Yes, it can be used towards tips. The onboard credit is placed as a credit on your account. All you have to do is go to the pursers desk and tell them you want to put the tips on your acount.

You can also turn this credit into cash by going to the casino cashier! :)
