cleo656 Posted August 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2009 Would anyone know if there is a grocery/convenience store near the Black Falcon Terminal? Thanks Pat
138east Posted August 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2009 South Boston is kind of a wasteland. No one really lives in the waterfront area by the cruise terminal. Where are you coming from and what do you need to buy?
cleo656 Posted August 26, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted August 26, 2009 We leave NY and our first stop is in Boston, what I'm looking to purchase is Diet Coke (NCL has changed to Pepsi products) so I thought maybe might be a place close buy to pick up a 12 pack or so. 138east Posted August 26, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2009 I know there is a 7-11 on Northern Blvd at the World Trade Center. I just don't know if there is anything else closer to the pier. You may just have to ask when you get to the pier.

RandMcnally Posted August 26, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 26, 2009 There is a Stop & Shop Supermarket and Rite Aid Pharmacy on East Broadway in South Boston, which is probably 1/2 to 3/4 mile from Black Falcon. It's probably a little bit further than the 7/11 on Northern Ave.
138east Posted August 26, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 26, 2009 Pat - are you going touring in Boston at all? There are places that have more amenities than the waterfront in South Boston.
cleo656 Posted August 26, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted August 26, 2009 We will probably catch a cab down to Faneuil Hall. My mom has a wheelchair so I think that would be the easiest. Pat

138east Posted August 27, 2009 #10 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Pat - read this thread that I responded on about Faneuil Hall for someone with mobility issues. If you get dropped off by a cab in the right place, you can be in the middle of things without pushing the wheelchair over a lot of cobblestones. If you're by yourself (i.e. you've dropped your mom off at the ship and you are going foraging for diet coke), then I would walk back along the harbor along Northern Ave. instead of going to East Broadway. If you have a rolling suitcase, take it with you so you don't have to carry your coke stash back.
kruzin' Posted August 27, 2009 #11 Share Posted August 27, 2009 :) after sightseeng, we plan on walking to Modern Pastry at 257 Hanover St to purchase some pastries then get a cab back to the ship..will we have any problen getting our goodies on board? and is this famous bakery worth the visit? I've brought food on board from other ports and I have never been stopped. I have never asked either though.

ecps92 Posted September 2, 2009 #14 Share Posted September 2, 2009 the 7/11 on Northern ave is your best bet for near-by the ship. Other than a new Dunkin Donuts, there is nothing within the port except an Au'bon Pan Would anyone know if there is a grocery/convenience store near the Black Falcon Terminal? Thanks Pat
