Fascinating. I have done 14 cruises on Holland America pre-Covid but since they now are going for the larger ships decided to try Viking for our first post Covid cruise based on its reputation. Hope we’re not disappointed!

Medicare does not cover you outside of the USA although Supplement plan or Medicare Advantage plan may. Check with your insurer before you leave if in doubt.

Very disappointed with Air Plus. Flying back from Barcelona to Boston on Delta via JFK leaving Barcelona at 12:15PM arriving in Boston at 7:38PM. Delta changed Barcelona departure to 9:15AM but Boston arrival same so have five hours to kill in JFK. Found that Delta has an earlier flight that would arrive in Boston at 5:07PM. When I asked for earlier flight I was told that it could not be booked because it was not included in Viking’s contract with Delta. So as far as I’m concerned there is no “Plus” in the Air Plus!! Save the extra cost and use it for transportation between ship and airport!

I found that Viking insurance was cheaper than independent policy. Suspect that it was because of age. Viking may have group rates whereas independents may be age rated. (I am a healthy 84).

I am a four star HAL Mariner who has given up on them since they sold all their smaller ships. Sailing on my first Viking cruise in November on the Sky. Have high hopes!
