DisneyCrazy123 Posted August 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2017 I am trying to figure out logistics when we dock in Salerno to take the ferry to Positano. Does anyone have recent experience doing this? Does the ship provide a shuttle to Piazza Della Concordia? I would appreciate any tips.
euro cruiser Posted August 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2017 (edited) If the timing works for you, Alicost goes right from Molo Manfredi (where the cruise port is) to Positano at 8 AM and 8:40 AM, schedule here: http://www.alicost.it/en/orari-e-prezzi/ The problem is usually the return, Alicost's first return to Salerno doesn't arrive until 6:30 PM, which is often too late for cruise passengers. If that's the case you'd need to either return to Piazza Concordia and walk (about a mile and a half) or take the bus to the cruise port. Piazza Concordia ferry schedule here: http://www.travelmar.it/it/orari For specifics on whether your cruise line (I'm guessing Disney, based on the user name) offers a shuttle you might ask on the cruise line forum. I haven't heard of any ships offering this but they might. There is a public bus that runs along the Lungomare that would cut the walking by more than half. euro cruiser Posted August 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2017 Actually I should have said buses, as several stop along there. I'm including the link for the bus schedules if anyone is interested: http://www.fsbusitaliacampania.it/index.php/offerta/2016-12-07-13-33-42/orari-urbani-di-salerno

euro cruiser Posted August 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2017 I would try posting on the RCCL board to find folks who have ported in Salerno with them to ask about a possible shuttle: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=83 If they offer one to the train station Piazza Concordia is quite close, just two-tenths of a mile.
