Since this is over a weeklate and I’m still catching up at work, I’ll try to be somewhat brief…

Background – DW and I are mid50’s, 5+ overall cruises, 3rd with Celebrity, have stayed in thebest (4 Seasons, Ritz, etc) and a lot lessor ones too, hence we know thedifference from great to marginal.

Departure – arrived intoSouth Beach 2 nights early, got to port about 11AM on Sat, very easyembarkation, friendly and helpful Celebrity employees. Yes, lots of peopleselling beverage & dinner packages but just keep moving past them and theyleave you alone

Super Bowl – ship wasbeautifually decorated, decent food although tough to figure out what end tostart the buffet line, lots of people starting in the middle. Oh well, most werein good moods and put up with it

Ship – beautiful, clean(always seemed to have someone cleaning), no complaints

Cabin – balcony, front of shipon 10th floor, Susan was a great cabin attendant (but no towelanimals)

Room service – prompt, never askedfor anything hot (heard it might not be hot upon arrival anyway), great lateafternoon snacks from them

Food – for dinner we ateanytime in the MDR, never more than 10 minute wait (normally we ate about7:30), good food except maybe once, good service too. Ocean Café for breakfastwas good, not too many rude folks, decent selection, friendly wait staff. Lunchwas normally around the pool – good burgers and hot dogs, healthier options atOcean Café or Acqua. Coffee on 5th floor was good and depending ontime, not much of a wait

Specialty dinners – we ate atMurano and Lawn Club, both very good, good service, would go back; good wineselection here and throughout the cruise

Bars – pool bars weresometimes tough to get a beverage, even though I was tipping a dollar or two(which didn’t seem to matter – hence maybe don’t do it). Martini bar between6-7:30 was also tough to get a beverage, again tipping didn’t seem to help

Entertainment – decent, notthe best, definitely seemed to appease the older crowd (yes, older than us)

Ports – we knew what we weregetting into prior to booking – basically 2 ports (not really counting San Juansince we got there at 3:30). Did our own things (taxi to Orient Beach &private tour on St Kitts which also took us to Carambola beach)

Embarkation - easy

Misc – not many kids whichwas nice, except the 1 day a kid got sick one of the pools and it had to beshut down; casino employees could have been friendlier; pool entertainmentduring the day was marginal at best; pretty windy a few days but otherwise goodweather; plenty of activities during the day to keep you busy or you could layaround and do nothing – just what a vacation should be

Closing – for the price, itwas a good trip. Not the best of everything but very, very good. You could tellthe employees (most but not all) tried to be friendly and do a great job. Iconsider this a middle of the road cruise line that does a great job for whatyou pay. Not everyone is happy with everything on a cruise and if you look hardenough you can find something wrong with everything. Relax and enjoy the ship!

Thanks to all the fellow cc’sfor all the tips prior to our trip, very helpful!!!!

Wondering what you thought of Carambola Beach Club. We are planning to do a little sightseeing then ending up there while on St. Kitts.

Thanks for the Carambola info. My friends and I board Reflection next week and have a day planned at Carambola. We stopped there a couple of years ago after a tour and knew it would be someplace we'd enjoy spending more time at. Just curious...did you eat at the resort? I did some research and see a fun beach bar a short walk away that looks really good also.

P.S. GO CUBS!!!

Contact Carambola beach club ahead of time to reserve your chairs, easy to do and you pay upon arrival. Then walk to your left ( while facing the water) to visit the 2 or 3 beach bars that are close by. I thought the drinks and food were better and cheaper than the beach club

We do have reservations at Carambola as you suggested. We're also going to treat ourselves to beach massages. We did that in St. Kitts a couple of years ago and can't wait to try it again. With a lot of OBC, I may also get a massage on the ship. Thanks for the tip also about the beach bars. I don't remember the name of it, but I found one online that looks great!

GO CUBS!!! (We are going to be riding this wave for a long, long time)
