Cinque Terre- Livorno or Genoa?

My daughter and I will be cruising in July stopping in both Livorno and Genoa. We are interested in visiting Cinque Terre and wondering if anyone has insight on which port would be best to do this from. While we have read that it is possible to do a self guided visit, we plan on using a driver/guide.

We would appreciate any thoughts anyone has.
