Some quick notes from our Divina cruise March 18-25

We arrived in Miami around 1:30, overall we were on board in less than 45 minutes. We were permitted to bring drinks on board, no questions asked. We also saw several others bringing on cases of water again no issues, questions, etc.

We had 4 cabins booked, three purchased beverage packages, one had vouchers. I will note that whenever I attempted to use a voucher and was with anyone that had a drink package, the staff always said the person with the package was permitted to order two beverages at at time and I was given my vouchers back. Only times I used the vouchers was either when my husband and I were alone, or we were all together. My mother was a single in her cabin, but was always permitted to order two drinks at a time.

We dined in the Black Crab, did have a table for all of 7 of us. Seating was really cramped, they just try and have too many tables in the area. Staff was good, two nights the menu's just didn't seem all that great. We ended up also going to the Eataly Pizza twice and will say that was really good. We didn't do any other specialty dining. Overall I would say the food was decent, though nothing spectacular. Desserts were really unappealing, most nights many just ordered vanilla ice cream.

Buffet wasn't too bad, found lots more seating near the back if people were just willing to walk back there. We sat there pretty much all week without too much trouble find a table for all of us. Omelet station is outside by the pool, which is just an odd place for it, also they only had parmesan cheese for the omelets, no cheddar. Really wish we could get plain burgers, or ones without cheese.

This was a Legends of Rock Cruise (we didn't attend these events), I will note there seemed to be a lot more Americans on the ship than on our first MSC cruise. Didn't quite encounter as many rude passengers as the first time. Still though the oddity of people pushing their way onto the elevators without letting people off first.

Hi mom2tcdx2. Thanks for the quick notes. Do you plan to do a full review? I'm sure many people are going to be happy to read that cases of water were being permitted. Kind of strange that only Parmesan cheese was offered at the omelet station.....I wonder if this is an Italian thing?

Did you get drinks (wine, etc.) while dining in the Black Crab? Were drinks brought in a reasonable time?

Drinks we saw were carried on through security, didn't overly notice any left with the porters. We also bought extra drinks onboard while we were in San Juan. Since I drink Mtn Dew I was glad to be able to bring on drinks.

Drink service during dinner was better, though we don't order wine. Getting sodas were pretty easy, did manage to get a few cocktails, as they ran over to the Divina Bar to get the drinks. Getting the bar staff was a bit harder, as our waiters had to go get them for drink orders. Overall we didn't wait too long for drinks. Will try to go into a bit more detail, just kind of get some more of my thoughts together.

I have to say overall we only had trouble with 3 staff members that just came off a bit on the rude side. Once my daughter's cell phone went missing in the casino, she was told to ask the bar if anyone turned it in, the bartender told her no and he was too busy to check - all along her phone was sitting by where he rang up drinks. They sent her running all over trying to see if it was turned into the front desk - who also just didn't seemed overly worried in even checking. Finally some casino staff pulled video to see it being picked up and taken to the bar.

Thought the omelet station was weird being outside by the pool and none inside - though you could get horrible scrambled eggs, boiled, fried and the omelets inside had no cheese on them either. Though personally I don't like cheese with egg, the parmesan was still a bit odd. They also didn't let it sit long enough to even attempt to melt - though really I don't think the parmesan melts anyway. Absolutely an Italian thing I believe.
