GeekyColoradoGirl Posted May 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2016 Hi! We are taking a cruise on MSC Divina this July (2016). I know that some cruise lines keep "ship time" where they are always on the time of the origin port. Others change the ship time according to the upcoming port. We are trying to plan some events in Grand Cayman. According to MSC we are in Grand Cayman 9am - 4pm. Can anyone tell me if this means that it is 9am Grand Cayman time? or Miami time? The only forums I could find for MSC specifically on this were from a long time ago and I know they have changed some things, so if anyone has cruised recently on MSC can tell me, that would be wonderful! Thanks!
Rare Essiesmom Posted May 31, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) Welcome to Cruise Critic. If you read the current 'Live' thread by Radio, you will read that on the western itinerary, the ship time is changed to reflect local time. I know from experience on the eastern route when we are on EDT, the ship does not have to change time as the islands on Atlantic standard do not observe daylight savings. mikesteg Posted May 31, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Check out this wonderful thing that wonderful person wonderfully posted. :D And yes, you can see on page 1 from Sunday that we did change time by 1 hour. That was prior to Jamaica, GC, and Cozumel. We changed back on Thursday, prior to Nassua.
