Review Voyager and a small compare with Azamara

Justback from our cruise Beijing – Bangkok

It wasour 3th Regent cruise and we like the Voyager with his great “suites”, allbalcony and separate shower and bath.

Marinersuites are smaller and with a little shower. Azamara also have smaller suitesand the shower is even more smaller than on Mariner.

Let’sstart with we had not that feeling as the first 2 times (still oke but….).First time with capt John and Ray (don’t have to say more). Second time on theMariner I don’t remember the names because there was almost no contact. Thistime also almost no contact with officers. Tammy as host did her best. And nothing is comparable with the very positivewarm feeling of Azamara (officers and all the crew) so that is not working in the advantage of Regent.

The foodwas overall much better and very good quality wine. So that was a big pro.

The refurbishwas not long time ago but you see already wear. Maybe it is the age of the ship.

In the 2week cruise there were only 3 big shows and we found the singing and dancingquality lotworse than previouscruises.

The excursionshad the first 2 times with Regent max 24-25 guest in a bus and was now filled(all excursions) with 34 or more guests. Almost every excursion had also a (long)selling stop. But also some positive: when the excursion time was there you becalled and got your bus number and go directly to the busses and not go to sit again and waittill your bus number was called.

InShanghai we were middle in the centre. But in Hongkong and in Ho Chi Minh City itwas a pity that is was out of the city centre.

Becausethe prices keep ricing and they keep shifting suites to higher categories wedon’t know if there will be a next time.

Dag!

Hi Han and Karen/Henk123, so nice to see you posting on the Regent board.

Thanks very much for your nice but short Mariner vs Azamara review. And, a special thank you for composing it in English when we know Dutch is your first language--well done. Y'alls review was particularly of interest to us, as we are booked on the Mariner (post scheduled refurbishment) in March 2019 (Shanghai to Tokyo).

We just recently (last month) came back from the Voyager (Auckland to Hong Kong) and also experienced the somewhat remote city ports in both Ho Chi Minn City and HK.

Still, very fondly recall our teriffic Voyager Dubai to Athens voyage almost five years ago.

Best, Wes
