Royal Princess Buffet Gluten Free offerings?

We're going on our first Princess Cruise in February. My wife has a gluten allergy and is nervous about the cruise. On embarkation day would you suggest going to the main dining room for lunch or going to the buffet and finding a chef to show her around and let her know what she can have? The first might be safer & easier but we're reading such great things about the buffet on the Royal... When there are plenty of offerings and the person showing her around the buffet is knowledgeable and confident it seems to put her at ease for the whole trip.

My DW eats Gluten Free for health reasons. You can go to the MDR or the Buffet . Find one of the chiefs or Supervisors (usually white shirt and tie wandering around the buffet) . They will know what is gluten free (part of their job) or contact a chief who knows. They also can make her something gluten free on the grill. They also can supply gluten free bread and dessert.

At supper tell the waiter that she is gluten free. The head waiter or Maitre de will come over and tell what she can eat . They usually will give her the menu for next days lunch and supper for her to select what she wants for supper. The Head Waiter will make a note with Cabin number and order.

The next day she tells the waiter that there is a special meal ordered. The waiter will get the order from the Head Waiter and take it to the kitchen.

This a lot easier if you are using fixed time dining. Anytime works just as well. We always try and get the same wait staff.
