Resident band on the Dream

I am going on the Dream 21/02/17 was wondering who are the band. We have enjoyed cruises on the Dream and Celebration which have had the band Topmen who are excellent.

I believe the band is Soundroom still with a girl singer As you say Top Men are very very good unfortunately the lead guitarist lets this band down Tom and Maris who were in Horizons on Celebration will be in Waters Edge along with David Morgan - reggae calypso and steel drums Marisa and Noel are in Tides

Strumjam are already contracted to Spirit for next year (along with New Dimensions) so certainly not them

soundroom are on vacation, seen a post from Maris saying its a polish band onboard

Polish band ended up in Waters Edge with David Morgan as not popular so Maris and Tom have done Medusa lounge this last week A trio is on this coming week and from next Tuesday a new Filipino band will start called Red Syndicate for the rest of the season As they're new can't say what they're like.

Seen Red Syndicate last year on Majesty, at the time consisted of Erick (excellant guitar player/vocals), his sister Roxi (vocals only, excellant ) also a good keyboard player and a drummer, if the line up is still as good a great allround band.

Looking forward to seeing Red Syndicate then - shame no rhythm guitarist but maybe keyboard player will make up for that and the guitarist can play good solos unlike the guy playing a jazz guitar in Soundroom

see you went on Mayan/Cuban cruise beginning this year can you help with a q on Costa Maya board re filming ruins? cheers

Sorry not sure what Costa Maya board is? We actually didn't call at Costa Maya did Cozumel twice. Do you mean the Mayan pyramids and ruins? If so we did that about six years ago and you could film then but not sure what you mean please advise

Erick is up there with the likes of Joseph (ex top men) and Jo Jo of Strumjam , one of his favourites is sweet child of mine and boy can he play it with Roxi belting out the vocals to it, was great last feb as both Red Syndicate and Top Men were on Majesty at the same time.

sorry Costa Maya is on the Ports of call/Caribbean/CM forum I was asking re the fee to film ruin sites. Was trying to find someone that had gone as debate re what 'film' covered given the smart phones of today.

Gosh we've never been charged to video ruins at either of the Mayan pyramid sites - unbelievable!!

Okavango - thanks for that sounds great - hubby is a semi-pro guitarist and loved Jo Jo and the guitarist in Top Men Jo Jo let him play with band occasionally.

Jo Jo is a great guy,very nimble fingered for a big lad LOL, think one of is best pieces was Santanas Maria Maria when he was using a classical guitar , it does not quite come across to the same effect now he's using electric guitar.

Locomotion were the poorest band we have seen on any cruise. They were simply not suitable for the clientele on board. We loved The Water's Edge, but moved to Explorer's when they were transferred there.

The resident band changed for the 2 recent cruises we were on so in February, who knows?

We didn't think either was wonderful. But the duo "2 Intense" from the Philippines were wonderful. They were originally in The Waterfront but halfway they moved them to Medusa and it was packed every night.
