importcf Posted December 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2016 Hey Folks, Long time lurker, first time writer. That's how it goes, right? I have an allergy to HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) and was curious what frozen drink mixes NCL uses. I know "Island Oasis" is popular, but i just want to check before we go on the ship. Thanks in advance!:D
hokies111 Posted December 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2016 Any time I saw them pour frozen drinks it was always from cartons of island oasis. Not sure if IO makes sugar or HCFS variants of their mixes though.
BabsinTX Posted December 5, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2016 If you ask nicely I'm sure the bartender would let you check the ingredients on the carton.
zqvol Posted December 5, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2016 If you are truly allergic to HFCS you need dto let the special needs department know ASAP. You will find that a lot, and I mean a lot of the food items have HFCS.
luddite Posted December 6, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 6, 2016 A corn allergy is VERY inconvenient. Corn starch and corn syrup have invaded way too much of our food supply. That said, there is a very easy way to avoid dying after consuming a frozen drink from an unknown source. Seriously, it's a VERY EASY technique.
