mainmast Posted August 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2017 We are taking an electric wheelchair which dismantles into 5 components. To do this it can take around 5 minutes and then putting it in the boot can take a few minutes to decide the best way for it to fit. We are travelling around the canaries in Oct and was wondering if the battery starts to run low whether it would be easy to get a taxi back to the ship with the wheelchair. We feel that taking up a taxi's drivers time dismantling the chair to fit in the car would not go down very well. We don't want to miss any of the port's or be a burden to a taxi driver who has to earn a living. Has anyone been refused a taxi with an electric wheelchair. It is different with a manual chair because our's just folds up and goes in the boot in a flash.
frisbeewife Posted August 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2017 I'm sure if you tip well the driver will be happy.
Buckimion Posted August 17, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2017 I was surprised at the number of taxi drivers that offered to take me and my (Full size) scooter in Nassau. Far more than expected.
