YoHoHo Posted September 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2017 Came across this thread on the P & O board that I thought a couple of regulars on this board might be interested in. Ocean Liners: Speed & Style, V&A London, 2 February – 10 June 2018. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2526231 As well as a joint venture there is an exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA https://www.pem.org/exhibitions/ocean-liners-glamour-speed-and-style Posters wrote: "For those with even a smidgen of interest in ocean liners, the exhibit is highly recommended. I think we spent about three hours taking it all in. " and "I attended the ocean liner exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts yesterday and highly recommend it. There is a wonderful collection of items from the great liners (Queen Mary, Normandie, SS United States, etc.). The exhibit features an incredible 40 foot long model of the original Queen Elizabeth. Also, the famous Hales Blue Riband Trophy that was awarded to the fastest liner is on display. The collection is very impressive and the items are displayed beautifully. JimandStan Posted September 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2017 Thank you for the link :D We're often in Boston, and this exhibit looks well worth the day trip. I'm particularly anxious to see the Queen Elizabeth model again, which I remember seeing at 25 Broadway before Cunard sold their NYC building- The stern section of this model is just visible on the far left of this photo:
