Royalty X Posted September 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2012 A big part of cruises here in Australia is the SailAway Party. They have lots of loud party music (sometimes a live band), all the entertainment staff on deck, dancing, drink specials, etc. they make a real party of it. Does this sort of thing happen on the Carnival ships?

k2excursion Posted September 7, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2012 What you described sounds like quite a bit more than what I've experienced on Carnival. On most of my cruises (but not all), we've had music (not live music) & dancing (group/line dances), usually 2 or 3 songs, for about 10 minutes, with a few of the social staff. No real drink specials that they wouldn't have before and after the sailaway time. It's still fun, but not what I would call a party like what you've described. golfadj Posted September 7, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 7, 2012 Not nearly what it used to be and very often sailaway and muster drill conflict.
