Christmas on DCL?

Holiday cruises on DCL are always priced at top dollar. Worth it is a personal matter. I would only do a cruise on the big day if that was the only time I could travel. In contrast, we find that cruising during the first 2 weeks of December is great. The ship, terminal, and Castaway Cay are fully decorated. Basically all the holiday activities are in full swing. Yes, there are a couple of additional things added on THE cruise (you get a Christmas gift from DCL and a Christmas dinner), but the cruise is typically less than half the price of sailing on Christmas week.

We really like the Christmas activities and find this to be a delightful time of year to cruise....but we avoid the expensive week.

Hi, we did the week before Christmas, twice, we did enjoy the cruise both years. There weren't as many kids on board, it was a full ship. The holiday themes and activites were fun. the characters even dressed in holiday theme. they had a holiday storytelling that was boring, it was crew members telling a storying, not reading books (interesting for adults maybe, boring for me/kids-we left).

it was the week we could travel and fit our budget. It was nice, came home, dh had two days of work then was home for a few more days. We enjoyed actual Christmas at home.
