Santa Margherita Ligure in mid October

On our cruise stop in Santa Margherita Ligure in mid October, we are planning to simply enjoy a beautiful scenic walk to Portofino as so many here have already described. Any suggestions in case of rain? I'm always up for a relaxing day taking in the local atmosphere in a restaurant/bar enjoying the gorgeous views but are there art galleries, etc... anyone can recommend?
