Lagun Beach, Curacao

We are arriving in Curacao Dec. 23, 2015 at 2:00pm on the Carnival Breeze. Is it possible to leave the ship on arrival, and take a cab to Lagun beach and have time to snorkel some before sundown? It looks like it is a 40 min drive.

Hi, We called in Willemstad from 8-5 a few weeks ago. We rented a car and drove a loop of the island. Seemed as if it did not take that long to get to the Westpunt. Probably was about 40 minutes. Lagun is nearer than that. And...FYI...On the way to rent the car I asked about the price for a cab to Knip beach, which is just a bit farther than Lagun. Just wanted to see if rental was a better deal. Cab drivers seemed to want to go to closer beaches. Quote was $150.00 for Knip and $50 for a quick tour and a stop at a nearby beach. Oh, and we stopped at a few beaches during our drive. Only snorkeled at Lagun. It looked to be the best. We enjoyed it.

The best snorkeling is at the Knip beaches - Klein or Grote Knip. We just spent a week in Curacao and hands down those 2 beaches were the best for that. They are further out - 40-50 minutes depending on the traffic and construction going on.

Hello, We used Avis. They have an office at the Mega pier and at Howard Johnson's in port. Process did not take long. It was about $50 and about $10 for gas. Best part was we could go wherever we wanted and when returning the car we drove into the secure port area to drop off. It was right next to our ship. Definitely better than a cab if you want to get further away from port.
