karlth Posted May 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2015 I just booked the MSC Divina on the 28th of June from La Spezia. The boarding time left me a bit puzzled though: 1 Sun 28 Jun La Spezia .... Embark Docked 2 Mon 29 Jun La Spezia .... 02:00 Docked I know that the Divina arrives at La Spezia at 8:00 in the morning on the 28th. Does anyone know when we are allowed to board the ship? andrewjb1 Posted May 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2015 We boarded the lirica in June of last year. That also arrived at 8 AM. I've just checked my ETicket and the boarding time States 13:00. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
karlth Posted May 16, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted May 16, 2015 (edited) Was that ship to leave La Spezia at 02:00 AM as well? Edited May 16, 2015 by karlth
Plan B Posted May 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2015 We've completed 3 MSC cruises and have always arrived early for embarkation regardless of what it says on the paperwork. Boarded at Dubai, Barcelona and Las Palmas by 11.30am on each occasion, hardly anyone else around - straight through :)
andrewjb1 Posted May 16, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2015 We left at 7 PM. But it's not unusual for MSC leave ports in the early hours. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Janet&Carl Posted May 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 17, 2015 MSC sells packages which include flights and do certain specials at times. This means for example, that they might have 400 Germans, or 50 or so Australians joining a cruise. The departure may be set to coincide with their arrival time. I know when we left New York on the Poesia we waited for over 200 Germans whose flight was delayed and we left in the early hours of the morning. I've never been able to get on as early as 11.30, but then I'm usually boarding at the main embarkation port. I usually get there around 1.00 pm and am among the first to board. If they are docking at 8am. Then the ship should be cleared of those disembarking there by no later than 11, so you could be lucky like Plan B and get on around 11.30. I'd imGine there would be more boarding at Barcelona or Naples than at La Spezia
