I have done the cruise from Dubai four times in total and if you would like some tips check out my reviews at:

(RCI Serenade of the Seas)

http://www.cruisecritic.co.uk/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=253499

(MSC Lirica)

http://www.cruisecritic.co.uk/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=273028

(MSC Orchestra)

I have recently done the MSC Fantasia (17th Dec departure) but I have only just returned home having had nearly five weeks in Dubai with my son and his family who are based there. I have yet to do a review

In Dubai my MUST DO's would be the Burj Khalifa (do book on line in advance to secure a slot and it is cheaper this way). The Dubai Mall is awesome and the Mall of the Emirates too. At these you can see the Ski Dubai and the aquarium. The dancing fountains are great and if you have time a visit to Atlantis on The Palm is worthwhile (day passes available which gives you access to all the facilities and the water parks. You can swim with the dolphin too.

The gold souk is a good place to buy some nice jewellery and the spice souk is very interesting

Abu Dhabi - the mosque should not be missed but remember to dress appropriately. You could visit this on you own - be sure to agree a price first with the taxi driver - you may even find they re willing to give you a tour around. The Emirates Palace is lovely.

Muscat - refer to my reviews for tips here

Sir Bani Yas Island is a new port of call for the cruise lines and we visited here on the last cruise. We booked the Jeep Safari and it was a mot enjoyable tour

I hope this will be of help. Have a great time

Regards
