Thanks for the live action review! We are on her in 4 weeks!

Quick question about the internet. Is the unlimited package you have something that came with suite (life) or it is something anyone can purchase that first day in Miami? At my NCL.com page, it looks like I can only buy minute packages.

Thanks!

I payed in advance for the Internet through the ncl website. It was $30/day, and u saved the $4 activation charge

The ship sailed on a Monday. I called the Thursday prior and was offered the $75pp balcony upgrade. I called again on the Friday and was then offered the suites as well

We have not seen any shows. The 9:30pm start time is too late for us early birds

We spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool. It was quiet and one of the bands was playing. At 6:15pm was the VIP cocktail. We had our picture taken with the captain and went through a "receiving line" of all the officers. We will be getting a free photo today. After shaking a lot of hands, we headed to Cagney's for our 6:30pm reservation.

I have seen many complaints on the forums about NCL nickel & diming. This meal was upsetting! Our previous Cagney's experiences were before the switch to a la carte. I did not see it as a big deal since the price would still be in the same ballpark, we just would not be ordering extra food just because we could. We both had salad, then Ro had a shrimp dish and I had the filet. Everything was fine until the sides came. Our previous experiences had the tin cups full of whatever we had ordered. This time around for $2 each, we received empty containers. A spoon of mash, 4 onion rings, 1/3rd cup of mushrooms. I was not impressed! I had an onion ring, and it was all hard batter. I exchanged it for a tiny baked potato. I was totally disgusted by this....charging for items that are free on the buffet and then giving less than half portions [emoji36]. We had coffee after confirming it was included, and Ro received a birthday cake. When the bill came I was prepared to leave a gratuity until I discovered that 18% was automatically added. 2 salads, 2 mains, 3 sides = $62.

Between all the exercise, alcohol, and sun, I was exhausted after eating. We went back to the cabin, and discovered the room had been setup with birthday balloons and streamers. There were chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of wine.

I managed to get 1.5hrs of deep sleep last night. It is a beautiful day in Nassau. We were up early and had breakfast in Cagney's. We are now lounging by the pool.

After breakfast we sat by the pool until sunset. I took a short break from the book I was reading to get a few laps in. I had deck 6 to myself and ran another couple of miles. The day was a mix of sun & clouds, just like the prior 2 days. We ate in the dining room: salads, tartar, chicken parm, gnocchi, mahi mahi, bananas foster, chocolate avalanche, and cookie ice cream sandwich. After paying off the account at passenger services we went back to the room to pack.

Final thoughts:

The most important part of any Caribbean cruise is the weather. With a good amount of sun everyday and no rain or wind, we got what we came for. Without a doubt the upgrade to the suite greatly impacted the outcome of the trip. With tons of space, a huge aft balcony, bottles, treats, special breakfast, a butler & concierge....how can you not be happy! If I would have stayed in the inside cabin, I am sure that I would have been more moody and negative. In the end, the 2 negatives on this cruise for me were the muster drill and our dinner at Cagney's. On the positive besides the cabin, the service was very good all around. Would I sail on the sky again? Yes, I think under the same circumstances I would with a minimum of a balcony.

Notes:

The shower in the suite is very tight...even more so than on Princess. Shower curtain molestation at its best! There is a jacuzzi tub as well.

The wifi did not extend to the aft balcony

The wifi was slow but stable for the most part. I was able to do a vpn session on my laptop, but had to be patient.

I saw the following in the casino for table rates: $5 tables for BJ, $10 for other games. $2 for roulette.

The main show each night is at 9:30pm

We did not experience any motion anywhere on the ship. Right now as we are heading back to Miami at high speed, there is vibration in the aft from the engines.

There was never a problem getting a drink at any bar. Most lines moved quickly

I think that is it, on to the Princess forums. Tomorrow we board the Royal Princess

☀️ Happy cruising!

Have a great time on the next one. This got me so psyched for our upcoming cruise and to also NOT go to Cagneys.

Don't give up on Cagneys to quickly. The 3 0f us went the same nite and had a great experience. My only complaint was the $8.00 shrimp cocktail only had 3 shrimp and not that large. We all had the $2.00 sides and shared the mushrooms and Cagney fries with a 5 oz filet. Couldn't finish my baked potato. We were full and the bill was only $75 for 3. Added a $20 tip. Would go back. Better deal then when it was $35pp.
