Riley's Mom Posted May 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2017 We just got back home to Texas after a long drive from Pt Canaveral. We had a great time & visited some amazing ports of call. This was my 21st Carnival cruise & I have been on the Magic a few times when she was in Galveston. We chose this cruise based on the ports & The cruise director The Rev Dr E! Hr is Awesome & made the week so fun! His energy is ridiculous! I dont know how he does it. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
Riley's Mom Posted May 23, 2017 Author #2 Share Posted May 23, 2017 We left from San Antonio on Wed May 10th & drove to Biloxi for the night. On this trip it was my 2 daughters. Aged 35yr & 21yr. On Thursday we made it to Titusville florida & stayed at the Fairfield inn for 2 nights. It was a decent hotel although the beds are way to soft for my liking. On Sat morning we drove to Park & Cruise arrived at 10am & were loaded on their shuttle around 10:30am. Check in was easy & we were on the ship before 11:30am Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
Riley's Mom Posted May 23, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted May 23, 2017 We were in Spa cabin 12037 on deck 12. We always book a Spa balcony cabin when they are available. We love the location & little extras. Our luggage arrived by 2pm & we were completely unpacked before the muster drill at 330pm. We had dinner at Cucina de capitano 3 nights this week. The first time was on Sat . We love the food & ambience of Cucina. To us it is well worth the $15 pp chg. We always tip extra as well. Riley's Mom Posted May 23, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted May 23, 2017 Sunday we awoke to cloudy skies. We got dressed for a day on the Lido deck & went down to look for chairs. My daughter found a single chair that had 2 chairs next to hers being saved with 2 beach towels. We arrived on Lido at 945am ( i timed it to see how long before the chair savers returned). At 1100am they were still gone. I asked the security man ti remove the towels & he did so. He left a sticker on one of the chairs explaining that it was unoccupied for more than 45min & the towels were removed by security. I was then able to occupy the chair next to my daughter. At 1130am the chair savers returned (middle aged couple) AND told me I was in her seat & asked me to move! I told her no i would not move. I told her we had been on Lido since 945am & at 11am security removed their items. She argued with me & said No, she was there...blah blah blah. Anyway, I refused to leave the chair & I told her to speak with security if she has concerns.. She stormed off in a huff & found another place to sit. It costs $8 taxi ride pp each way to get to Bohio. At Bohio the cost for a chair is $10 & umbrella is $10. Riley's Mom Posted May 23, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted May 23, 2017 After a few hours we left Bohio &ventured back to the pier to Margaritaville. This place was crazy busy & filled with lots of inebriated ppl. Lol We ate lunch here & then grabbed a few chairs by the pool. Riley's Mom Posted May 23, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted May 23, 2017 Tuesday we arrived in San Juan a little before 1pm. Our disembarkment ended up being close to 1:30pm. We didn't book an excursion here . We walked around the beautiful streets of Old San Juan for an hour or so. It is so lovely! Riley's Mom Posted May 23, 2017 Author #12 Share Posted May 23, 2017 After walking around old San Juan & having a mango smoothie & Starbucks we decided to take a short city tour that was offered to us when we were walking down towards the ship. There were several buses trying to be filled for the city tours. We chose the 1 hr city tour for $10 pp. Our guide was George & he was great. The tour ended up being almost 2 hrs! Can't beat that for $10 in an air cond van. He took us to the water front downtown. To an old Catholic cemetary by the sea & the a few of the forts. Riley's Mom Posted May 23, 2017 Author #19 Share Posted May 23, 2017 If it's Wednesday then it must be St Kitts! This was my favorite port. What a beautiful island. The pictures do not do it justice. We decided to go to Carambola Beach club in St Kitts. It was a $4 pp taxi ride (if you shared a taxi) or $16pp if we didn't share. Well.....we wanted to arrive asap so we pd the higher price. And was glad we did. When we arrived we basically had the place to ourselves. It cost $10 per chair & $10 per umbrella. The first pic is of the winding road you take to get to the beach club. Gorgeous! Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
Riley's Mom Posted May 23, 2017 Author #20 Share Posted May 23, 2017 Carambola Beach club The mountains made the beach surreal! Absolutely breathtaking. Riley went jet skiing for $20 for 15 minutes & really enjoyed herself. I think this was the price. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
Riley's Mom Posted May 23, 2017 Author #21 Share Posted May 23, 2017 We had a few drinks which were $10 a piece . We had lunch at the restaurant. Riley had a club sandwich with fries & I had the fried chicken (dark meat) with fries. The meals cost $18 each! A crazy price but the food & service was good. Riley's Mom Posted May 23, 2017 Author #23 Share Posted May 23, 2017 After we left the beach club we went back to the ship to change clothes & pick up my older daughter. She didnt want to go to the beach. We hired our taxi driver Euctice Williams for $30 an hr to take us on an island tour. He was friendly, funny & informative. He took us to a black sand beach. I took pics but they dont really show the black sand. In person it is glittery black sand. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
Riley's Mom Posted May 23, 2017 Author #24 Share Posted May 23, 2017 Thursday our last port was St Maarten. We took a taxi from the pier for $8 pp to Sonesta Great Bay resort. It is an all inclusive resort that I booked with shore excursioneer for $79 pp. Well worth the money. Check in was quick & easy. The drinks were strong & tasty. I will say that I have Never Ever seen water this shade of blue before. Amazingly beautiful! Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
