RoseGab123 Posted February 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2017 Hi. Have recently booked this cabin for a canary island cruise. I know it is obstructed but has anyone stayed in this cabin who could advise me how obstructed?
john watson Posted February 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2017 A good montage of "Obstructed View" cabins is available on the site detailed blow. Provided people understand that Britannia is a sister to Royal Princess and Regal Princess which are very similar but identical in many constructional features. Also it needs to be noted that deck 8 on Britannia is designated as "G" deck. This is simply because alphabetical designations start on high decks on go down and Princess has named two decks below Lido deck then gone on to "A". So equivalent cabin for Britannia's cabin G438 is Royal's or Regal's E438. To access the photos click on the link. Scroll down to see all the photos. Some have been taken in port! Slight design variations exist a bit forward of the nominated cabin in this post because Princess have flared the hull side just forward of the aforementioned cabin. I think E438 is going to be accurate for G438. https://sites.google.com/site/royalregalprincess/home/8-emerald Regards John
john watson Posted February 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2017 Judging by the side of the ship shots and referring to the P&O brochure it looks as though G438, Obstructed Balcony aligns with a very much smaller service boat and not the giant tenders. So any obstruction is very minimal. My understanding of the "G" deck is that the obstructions are more noticeable if you stand at the rail and look at a downward angle over the side of the ship.
