  1. Before you eat it on a ship, maybe try it at home. Is there an Indian restaurant near you? Most likely, if there is one (or more), they'll have a lunch buffet. Go. Try the lunch buffet. You can try several different items (for less than the price of one entrée) and see what suits your tastes. If, by chance, you know any Indians, ask them what restaurants they prefer. Yes, there are good and bad Indian restaurants, and we would be honoured to point you in the right direction.

That's a great idea! I'll have to ask around and find a restaurant to try out. Thanks for suggesting that. :)

  2. Ok, I'll admit it...I've always been to much of a wimp to try Indian food. However after all the posts I have read about people loving Tandoor, I think I have may been missing out on something great. Looking for suggestions and descriptions of some of your favorite items you have had at Tandoor. What did you love, and what would you suggest for someone to try for the first time?

  3. With the spa package, or just walking through the spa, it's expected that they will solicit the use and purchase of other services or products, but you are under no obligation to use or purchase them. On ships where you have to pass the spa or their personnel to use the gym, they always try to get you to use the spa, purchase Elemis, or purchase other products. I just walk pass and say no thank you, and keep walking. It will be the same when I use the spa this time. My mother and sister have a spa balcony, which will be their second, and they said the first time they were asked about using or purchasing other services or products, but didn't feel pressured or obligated.

Thanks for your response. I completely understand the upsell environment of the spa, and have no problem politely declining additional services. Just wanted to ensure that the price for this 7 day pass would not change once it was booked.

  4. Ok, so I may be dense, but what does "starting at $139 mean?" I am happy to purchase at $139 for the 7 day pass, but am concerned that it will end up being much more. Anyone had an experience where you ended up paying more than that? I am thinking if I click through and book it and the rate stays $139 then it can't change later, correct? First time considering this, but have no desire/funds to indulge in any other spa purchases.

  5. No need to worry in St. Thomas. Look on the ports of call board and TA and find a reputable provider. If all else fails, book the Fury and go snorkeling with sea turtles. My boys loved it!

Oh! That sounds good. Is this an excursion through Carnival or an independent. Would love to see Sea Turtles!

  6. 1st time sailing out of Port Canaveral, & 1st time since Carnival went to staggered boarding times.

    1. How far out can you select your boarding time?

    2. If you had an 11am time would you still get FTTF? No tender ports on cruise, and no rush for debark. Embark and dedicated guest service line are reasons I'm considering it.

I have no issue waiting after check in for 1/2 hour to an hour, but prefer not to be standing out in the sun at the port waiting to get to check in.

Last cruise we arrived at 10:30, checked in within 20 min and were on the ship by 11:30. This was before the staggered appts and was in Ft Lauderdale,.

  7.

So much lately about the "new" but not improved mattresses. Wondered how any recent (Oct-present) Navigator cruisers found them. We are on a Royal ship for the first time in early March and it will be the very first cruise for my Sr. parents (late 60s). As they both have some mobility/back issues & I am worried after reading some negative posts about the concrete slab-like new mattresses. Any feedback on that? I am considering emailing special needs dept. to request extra mattress pads if that is the case. Just want to make this experience as good as possible for them as it may be their one and only cruise. God willing there will be more :D

We are booked in 2 ocean view, 3 superior balcony, and one mobility balcony room (the parents).

    Thanks for any feedback.

  8. Everyone was so helpful to me, that I thought I'd try and answer any questions. We had 8 people in our party (4 balcony rooms with 2 that connected (2 aft connecting & 2 mid/forward)). 2 kids under 10, 2 adults in their 30's, 2 in their 40's, 2 in their 60's. Dined in Sabor twice and at Chops once. Kids did Ocean Adventure too.

We had a great experience. Few minor room issues which were quicly resolved. Fairly rough seas, we thought. Change in itinerary - no stop to Cococay - switched to Costa Maya instead.

I am not an expert on the ship - so I can't tell you how things were before/after dry dock....

How did your kids like Adventure Ocean? My son is 9 and liked the kids club on Carnival. Wondered how your kids felt about this kids club?

    Thanks for your other responses.
