Buy these and let your noisy next door neighbor borrow them.  Just use "blue painters tape" to attach. Oceania doesn't like semi permanent tape markings. They divert the sound "forward" from the downward facing speakers at the bottom of th TV.

  2. Just off Vista. Look at those cruises. It can only hold 1200 passengers and seems very uncrowded for most things . Vista has so many pluses compared to the smaller ships. 4 specialty restaurants and Aqua Mar kitchen (healthy foods), large barista area, bakery, cooking school, artist lessons, excellent entertainment every night, and much more. The ship in terms of design and interior decorations is a large step up from Riveria and Marina.

  3. Ok. On board Vista now. Will have good and bad comments about Vista later. Regarding night light, yes, blue light is too bright. Just dim the mirror light in bathroom (press and hold the switch at bottom of mirror). Then just leave the door open 1-2 inches. That's all you need.

  4. I was watching a Youtube video about Concierge cabin on Vista and they mentioned a "night light" switch.  There is a switch on both sides of the bed that has a green light on it.  Press the switch and a small, I believe blue light, comes on at the bathroom entrance.  Very cool. We have been on a few Oceania ships and I don't recall this.  Maybe someone on board Vista could elaborate.  Is it in all cabins on Vista?

That appears to be a pre-Covid menu. All cabins can order hot breakfast now. There is a photo of the room service breakfast ordering card in "steamboats" excellent review:

The review is for Vista, but the card is the same as on other ships.

I do not see a breakfast menu??  Why are your German words so long???  It must take a long time to write an email!!??

  6. Look!!   When you are trying to get a boarding pass,  fill everything out, and click "skip picture" for all people. This will let you complete the form.   You can then have Oceania take your pic when you check in.  You must have a boarding pass when you enter embarkation!!

My wife and I are going to get to Experience Oceania and Vista for the first time on the December 30th 10 day sailing to the Caribbean as a continued celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary.

We booked a Penthouse suite ( PH1) on deck 11 a first and we have never experienced a butler before. We wanted a higher end service experience and it sounds like the Penthouse experience can provide that.

My wife and I are looking forward to sailing on Oceania Vista and the smaller ship experience as we are 56 yrs old and have experienced larger ships in the past ( 2,800 to 4,500 passengers) with NCL, Carnival and most recently on Celebrity Equinox in October our first with them.

Our last cruise Celebrity in October had 2,800 Passenger's so having 1,200 Passenger's on Oceania Vista will be nicer and more relaxing we think.

My question to you folks that have sailed in a Penthouse suite was it worth it? Any tips to make sure everything runs smoothly.

    Thank you. 🙂

Parrot Head----1.  Hope you have booked your speciality restaurant reservations already--Also excursions.

    2.  Consider booking a cooking class--pay about $89 per person--lots of fun.

    3.  Be sure to go to the Aquamar Spa Terrace--very nice private area--go thru the Spa to reach it. It is included with Penthouse.

    4.  Don't need drink package unless you are a heavy drinker. I assume you have the free wine/beer at meals.  Lots of Happy Hours every day to get good discount on drinks.

    5.  Be sure and bring several bottles of wine and or Liquor on board to enjoy a drink in your cabin.  Do not drink this outside your cabin.  Lots of mixers for free in your refrig.

6..Be sure and go to several afternoon teas in Horizons--great treat.

    7.  There is an Executive Lounge for you on Deck 11..  Be sure and visit for coffee/snacks/drinks all day long  Great place to hang out while your cabin is being cleaned.

    8.  Write a letter before you leave and spell out what you expect from your Butler.  This will help him with your needs.  He can also bring you meals from any speciality restaurant.

    9.  Free washer/dryer machines on your floor.  Also 3 bags of laundry will be done by the ship crew.

YOU WILL BE BLOWN AWAY AT THE HOSPITALITY, FOOD, AND BEAUTY OF THIS SHIP.

Do lots of youtube videos about Vista.

  9. Wonderman3.  Very important. The penthouse suites are among the first groups able (75 days prior to sailing--I believe) to make reservations at the specialty restaurants. This is important if you want dinner for 2 people. Many people go to the Oceania website at midnight plus a couple of minutes ( Eastern time)on that first day of reservations. Of course your Butler can help getting into restaurants at any time.

  10. OK---I think I figured out the poor "sight lines" in the theatre on Vista that everyone is talking about. The problem is not the seats, it's that THE STAGE IS TOO LOW!  Ever been to Broadway?  Those stages are 5-8 feet above the floor level at least. Can someone on board confirm this?

My friend and I are looking at a cruise next summer on Sirena. This will be my fourth ocean cruise (all others on Viking) and she has been on one Viking and a lot of Caribbean cruises  years ago. We have seen a lot of bad reviews and dissatisfaction with Oceania recently in reviews and on the boards. The specific itinerary and time frame on Oceania suit us, so we are reaching out to get feedback from those who have experience with this line. Thanks very much.

Please read this very great review.  Oceania is the best--I promise.
