  1. In Nassau if you turn right of the ship and walk about 15 minutes you will find Junkanoo beach. Lots of food, music and fun. Or walk further down the beach if you want more quiet.

In Freeport you can walk around the port but its not very interesting. Take a taxi to Port Lucayan for $10 pp round trip. There's a huge marketplace with restaurants. If you cross the road and walk about a block to the right you will find the police station. Beside the police station there is path leading to a very nice beach. If they try and tell you the beach is closed, don't believe them. It just has a little debris from the hurricane.

  2. When I book with my PVP, he puts my kids in one room and us in another but gives both rooms my VIPF benefits/offers. I get better offers then my husband, don't know why.

So much easier then having to switch room keys or names once on board.

  3. I'm pretty faithful to Carnival so I start by picking the date and then checking ports. We drive to ports from Ontario so any port in Florida we drive to. Then I check prices and itineraries. Pick one I like then check out the ship to make sure it has the things we like such as guys burgers and a serenity deck. I like to pick an itinerary that has at least one new port that we haven't been to.

  4. Call me overprotective but I already told my 13 year old she will not be leaving or going anywhere without supervision. It's my first cruise with kids, but I don't let her roam in a hotel, I'm certainly not letting her roam on a ship! It;s not her I'm worried about. She is a great kid. I'm worried about people that can open their room doors and just pull her in and I'd never know. I'm worried that she could get pushed overboard. I know, I know. I'm a worry wart. But I'd rather be safe than sorry!

Wow! Hopefully you lighten up a bit when she meets some friends. Or will you not allow that either?

  5. Mentioned a few times and it made me laugh every time someone else said it: bathrobes. My husband and i have a contest every cruise for who can spot the most bathrobes on the cruise. He usually wins. Last cruise I was ahead by 1 on the last day and I was sure I had it. Then LAST DAY, he spotted 2. Not even together. We cruise in a few weeks. We;ll be spotting again.

Too bad you weren't on our bahamas cruise a month ago. Everyone was wearing their bathrobe so they wouldn't freeze getting out of the pool or hot tub.

Everyone has a reason for wearing their robe. While I normally wouldn't wear one out and about on the ship, its not nice to make fun of those who do.

  6. $15 a day is a good price compared to other ports. Consider the safety of your vehicle.

FTTF is also good for having your room ready when you board, dedicated line at guest services and priority tender.

I don't purchase wifi. I try and find free WiFi in ports.

I like to do at least one excursion and at least one beach day.

I don't purchase cheers but we are not heavy drinkers. My husband gets a buckets of beer and I get a couple of frozen drinks a day so it's not worth it to us. I think to break even you need to drink 6 a day.

Purchase a case of water before hand at the fun shops to be delivered to your stateroom. And don't forget you can each bring on a bottle of wine and 12 pop.
