  1. I've sailed them both and honestly, they are both great!!  I don't think either will let you down.  The decor on the Horizon is a little more "modern" and toned down.  The Magic was one of the last ships the previous designer had his hands in.  As was mentioned by others, the dining and iMax will probably be the biggest differences.  I would recommend using Carnival's cruise ship compare tool and see if any of the dining options / entertainment interest you more.

  2. Thanks so much for the reply! Was the sea spray constant or just occasional? With the more FWD cove, there were a few days we couldn't even go out there without getting wet. Were you still able to sit out there and enjoy it?

Thanks also for the noise report! Glad to hear we shouldn't be hearing much ;)

Didn’t really notice a lot of spray when sitting out there, just every time I went out was a lot of salt on the railing. This was our second cove and I didn’t remember it being as much the first time we had one.

Definitely enjoyable though to sit out there, just had to wipe it down if you wanted to lean lean on the balcony to watch the water.

  3. I really think this comes down to supply and demand. Businesses make exceptions to policy all the time, but right now the ships are sailing full in most cases, demand is high. They know they will likely sell that cabin that you want to upgrade too, so really there isn’t an advantage for them. If cabins were not selling out so easily, they may be more willing to make exceptions and give a little, but really from the business standpoint it doesn’t make a lot of sense right now.

  4. Our option to choose check in time was available in May for our October cruise, so about 5 months before and it seems many others are reporting similarly on here. I was able to get 11:00-11:30 slot, of course that won’t be the boarding time. To me it’s not worth the cost of FTTF.

Also looks like Carnival is testing some new dessert menus - elegant nights were the same, but a lot of new ones. It also appears Bitter N Blanc may be making a comeback to the 7 day menus (it was on the same night as Smores Parfait). Nutella Tiramisu was gone, and regular Tiramisu in its place. Chocolate Tres Leches Cake was another new one. I will have to see if I can find them all - I know the last night was Carrot Cake and Cherry Pie (listed on the menu, not as the "pie for the table."

S'mores Parfait sounds delicious! Was it any good?

  6. wasn't being ugly about the person who got sick only think it's terrible that we're getting a 20% off of a cruise that we're not gonna take so how am I getting anything from this zero nothing. Like I said if we would've been told about it whenwe got back to Miami after 13 hours of cruising we would have gotten off the ship but we weren't told about it we cruised for 4 1/2 days 4 1/2 days in the water because they turned off the TV screens wouldn't tell anybody where we were I think we floated in circles for quite a while because They didn't know what to do with us was very disappointed. And no every time I called to talk to them about it to even see about getting the 20% cruise for maybe in the future I get stuck on hold and we never get through but that's OK there or the cruise lines and I have a friend who is a diamond and she told me it was time we change lines and I do believe she's right

Wow, it's a human being, and no fault of Carnival. 20% off is quite generous, amazing how entitled people are.

  7. I cruised with friends and we set expectations up front that no one is required to do what the other is doing. I would definitely tell them about the upgrade and if you want to get on priority, maybe offer to take a bag of theirs with you so you're helping them out with the injury and getting on sooner. They can meet later to get it.
