  1. Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering what does everyone do when you have 1 person in a room that wants the deluxe drink package but the other does not drink at all. We have never purchased the Deluxe drink package before so to my surprise when I went to purchase it for my Dad I found out that both legal age people have to purchase the same package. Yes, I did not know this! LOL! My mom only drinks coke and water. She may take 2 sips of her sail away strawberry daiquiri that she gets on day 1 and wastes the rest of it. However, my dad drinks and wants the package. What are some ideas that people do when it is seems like a waste for one person? Should he get the package anyway or just save up and buy drinks on the ship as he goes?

  2. Hey Everyone,

My parents and I just returned from our 3rd cruise. I always get an inside cabin by myself and my parents get a balcony room directly across from me. I know that i receive double the points from traveling in a cabin by myself and this last trip on the Harmony I became platinum. However, my Dad also received an email about a week ago congratulating him on becoming platinum, but my mom did not. She is currently still at Gold status. How can that be? Shouldn’t they both receive the same amount of points for each cruise? We have been on three 7 night cruises Allure, Oasis, and Harmony. I just was wondering how did my dad become platinum before my mom?

  3. Hey Everyone,

My parents and I just returned from our 3rd cruise a few weeks ago. I always travel by myself in an inside cabin and my parents get a balcony room directly across from me. I became platinum status as of this last cruise on the Harmony. I understand that because I travel in a cabin by myself i get double points. However, my Dad also received an email congratulating him on becoming platinum status about a week ago, but my mom is still at gold status. How can that be? Shouldn’t they receive the same amount of points? We have done 3 cruises so far Allure, Oasis, and Harmony each at 7 nights. Are nights the only thing they count towards your points?

  4. Though OP is in a cabin by herself what OP didn't state is if she booked a single occupancy studio or a standard cabin at a single occupancy supplement. Harmony has both .

You know what I'm not even sure. I booked it at Next Cruise on my cruise last year on the Oasis. I just know that it is a Large interior room. But everyone seems to say that if there is room on the lifeboat that they probably will rebook me at another rate. She probably will just have to wait until next cruise.

  5. Hi All!

My family and I are sailing in July on the Harmony of the Seas. We just made our final payment yesterday, but I wanted to find out is it possible to add a child in my cabin. My parents have a balcony room and I am directly across from them in a large interior. My mom is thinking about bringing my little cousin who is 12 but will be 13 by the time we sail with us. It's a late decision because she knows that we go every year and has been begging her mom to let her go with us. She normally tells us no every year but this year she has been hinting at letting her go. If she says yes Can I add her to my interior room and if so what fees come along with it? My cost seem to be at double occupancy anyway. I'm sure there is more additional cost included due to food and activities., but will they let me add a person and does anyone know about how much more this would cost?

  6. Great Thanks Guys ...you guys gave me peace of mind.

If it gives you peace of mind, go for it, but you really don't have to worry about the 6 month passport thing if the countries you're visiting don't require it. I used my passport for the Western Caribbean last month when it was expiring in like 5 weeks, zero issues. The customs agent just pointed out that it was close to expiring when we returned.
  7. Hey All,

I am leaving on my cruise in 6 days. This is only my 2nd cruise so i just wanted to get some clarification on the gratuities. Last cruise I pre-paid the gratuities and then gave extra at the end. That is what I thought I was going to do this cruise as well, but when I printed out our cruise docs it said at the top that no prepaid gratuities or travel protection were included. I immediately got upset because I thought all of this was set. We booked this cruise on the ship on our last cruise last year and she told me she was booking it the same way I had it in for the cruise we were currently on. She didn't ask me any questions regarding gratuities or travel protection so I assumed she did what she said. But anyway if the cruise docs are correct she did not add it in so how do they do it when you don't pre pay? Will they charge my card everyday the $13 and something? Or Is it at the end of the cruise that I need to make sure I don't spend the gratuities amount?

This puts a damper on my spirits because I thought all of my money was spending money then i would add additional to my cabin steward and waiters at the end. Now I probably won't be able to give extra.

  8. Thanks everyone for giving me some advice. It sounds like we will be ok. I will run it passed my mom to see if she wants to go ahead and renew or not. Since it sounds like people are getting theirs back fairly quickly. But if not, it doesn't look like any of the places we are traveling require a certain amount of months remaining. Mine and hers are the only 2 expiring soon. My dad still has a couple years left on his.

  9. Hey Guys,

I just have a quick question. I tried searching for a more updated response on the forum, but all of the posts seem kind of old. I just wanted to know from a more recent perspective if I will be ok cruising in July on a passport that expires in November? Its been so many recent changes and back and forth stuff on traveling recently that I don't know what the rules are any more. I am a US citizen but just don't know if the US or Royal have recently cracked down on passports being no less than 6 months. Should I bring my Birth Certificate just in case or do you think I will be ok since it is closed loop? I do not really want to spend the money on a new passport right now or risk it not getting back in time for my cruise at this point. But if I have to then I will because I am too excited for my cruise. Any thoughts?

    Thank You :D

  10. Yes I really liked the reviews. I at least got some kind of idea on what people thought. I guess I will check out Trip advisor and of course CC.

When we went to Jamaica we did the Falmouth at Leisure which was nice. We had a really great tour guide (very knowledgeable and fun) and you stop in Montego Bay for a couple of hours for a beach break and Lunch or you can just explore the area and shop. Our tour guide told us where it was safe to explore and where it was not. I'm more adventurous but my parents are not. So we chose a tour.

  11. My family and I sailed on the Allure last week and to me everyone dressed in formal attire at dinner. I would've felt out of place had I not dressed formal. Especially the first formal night. We had a 7 night cruise so 2 formal nights. The 2nd formal night I saw a little less formal but still very dressy. There were lots of celebrations, lots of quincinera's therefore there were lots of big poofy Cinderella dresses and many others as well. I didn't see tuxedos but lots of full suits on men.

Many people were saying it's starting to diminish and this was my first cruise so I didn't know what to expect so I brought formal and very dressy. On my way to my room I saw very nice formal gowns so that's what I put on as well.

  12. This may be a silly question but my mom asked it just a little earlier while she was packing and I didn't know the answer. Do they have mail service on the ship? We are sailing on Allure for our first cruise on Sunday. Do they have postcards available on the ship and if so do they mail them out for the same price as our U.S. Postage or is it based on whatever port we are in? Or do we have to mail out postcards only while in port?

She loves to bring her stamps on every trip and mail back postcards to our family members.

We are going to Cozumel, Falmouth, and Labadee if that helps any.

    Thanks!

  13. Just wondering: Why is her mom being a butt hole and not signing the document? Is it because you're not taking her mom on the cruise too...?

That is just her personality here lately. She is fine with things one minute and then not fine with things the next. She isn't interested in traveling so she wouldn't want to go.

  14. you could always tell the butt hole that if she does refuse to sign that you will be sending her a bill to cover the cancellation penalties( and you could 'forget' to mention that you have insurance)

unless of course she paid, but in that case you just remind her that there is no refund.

Oh I am definitely going to find a way to let her know that she has to pay me back. She didn't pay for anything I wish she did. I paid for everything. She doesn't know I have travel insurance I can't tell her things like that because she will find a way to have a reason to say she can't go. So I keep details at a minimum.

At this point though I am so excited for my trip that I will worry about it once i come back if she doesn't go.

  15. I love that you used butt hole. It's my go to insult! Tell her that whatever issues she has with you guys shouldn't burden the child. Let her have an experience she will always remember!

Yes I wish she thought that way. She is just a jealous type of a person and she doesn't believe that her kids should experience anything she hasn't experienced. (weird and mean, I know) So she was all with it at the beginning but now that it is time to go she got angry about her going on a trip somewhere. Me and her are just 2 different types of people. But she is afraid to tell me she doesn't want her to go anymore so she just avoids going to get the letter signed. I just feel bad for my niece because she did so well in school this year and I promised to take her if she did well. But she also knows her mother.
