  2. I prefer a cab over a shuttle to the port. Sometimes you get stuck waiting for the shuttle to fill up before they bring you over. If you're paying $16 to get to your hotel, you'd pay about the same from the hotel to the port.

From FL to Port of Miami?

  3. Also if you're lucky enough to have any decent photos taken on the ship those are pretty expensive and can add up in a hurry!

    I don't think I'll do pictures either....maybe one. :)

  4. Hi Nursepixie,

    Racking up a big bill...

Amazingly, it happens easily! Drinks in particular, a little time in the casino, maybe a couple of gifts for the kids, excursions. You certainly can avoid doing so, but something seems to happen when you are on that ship and feeling relaxed!

Might be best to have some extra just to cover yourself. Whatever you do, have a great time!

Thanks! I'm not a big drinker, so I should be ok there. There could be issues with gambling, I've only done it once, but really enjoyed it :).

  5. First time cruiser here wondering how some of you rack up such a huge bill? I don't plan on bringing a lot extra, so don't want to be surprised. So far I plan on just doing the steakhouse once. Thanks. Sorry this is kinda of the subject.

  6. I understand what you're saying, but I haven't once seen where someone has tried to change it online.....I'd love to hear from someone who unsuccessfully tried, just to know that I shouldn't even try. To me, it looks legit. I haven't once talked to carnival reps, I've done it all online. Thanks. I might take my chances.

  7. We have always paid for our cruise up front or provided a credit card to be charged on the "final payment" date. I thought I remember seeing comments about making payments (a little at a time).

Does Carnival accept this type of arrangement? Where do you send payments? I have been all over their website and cannot find anything.

We are booking our next cruise way in advance and I just thought this would be a way to pay for it without even missing the $ (very much) :D Thanks!

When you are booking your cruise, once you get to the end, there is an option to pay the deposit now and then make payments, or pay in full. You won't see this until you get to the end. You can pay whatever you want as long as it's paid off 60 days in before you set sail (there will be a final payment date listed).

  8. Depends on how you booked it. Under ES there is a $50 fee for name change..that's it.

On one of my bookings a while back, I switched my husband for my brother and they didn't even charge me the $50 and I had ES. It was 4 weeks before the sailing date.

Did you do it online, or call?

  9. I know this topic is here somewhere, but I'm not able to search. My husband has now decided that he just can't face his fear of flying, so I really need to switch my companion. Can anyone with experience doing this tell me what the penalty is? Thanks!

  10. You are sailing the 6-day itinerary...right??

My guess is the sea days......Day 2 - on your way to Ocho Rios and Day 6 on your way back in to Miami - but that's only a guess

I also think the Steakhouse staff could confirm - for sure. I would also suggest that you make your reservation BEFORE boarding. The Steakhouse on the Breeze is much smaller than on other ships and it fills up fast.

You can make your reservations and ask about the elegant night by email: brsteakhouse@carnival.com

I actually already made my reservation months ago.....on day 2 :/. I'll email and ask. Thanks

  11. Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I was wondering if they are strict on steakhouse attire? I won't have anything elegant with me, but I won't look like a slob either. I just need to know if I should cancel my reservations. First time cruise on the Breeze 7/13/14. Thanks in advance!
