Now that I know I'll make certain to get a shot of the ones on the Sky in 2 weeks. No doubt they will not be as sparkly as the ones in Mitsugirly's shower on the Getaway!

I am cracking up!! :D Too funny...both of you!

I gamble for my cruises w/ Casinos at Sea. Been on several cruises now and I keep getting offers of free cruises from them for tournaments. I sometimes lose my shirt and sometimes win. Worst was the Getaway which was like a cemetery in terms of the sound in the casino. I think because the ship was so new there were just no jackpots paying out. You just didn't hear the machines making their jackpot noises and the few people that did hit were only getting small payouts of under a couple hundred dollars.
One of my best was on the Sky in 2013. I had planned this as a budget cruise, no real gambling budget and then decided to take a shot after all. Took out a thousand dollars to gamble with and hit a machine for a thousand within the first half hour or so. Went to dinner and came back, sat 2 machines over and hit for a thousand again. Both were older style slots that turn reels instead of the newer digital ones. I gave a little back but for the most part I think I left with about 2500 out of the 3000 so it was a nice trip.
I've had good luck on the Epic as well, but generally I find the first and last nights to be best for gambling on the Epic. I don't know if it's because of the people playing on those nights. Last Epic cruise I hit for 600 on the way into the piano bars to see some friends we cruise with. This time I'm cruising solo so i'm going to be more careful I may not gamble at all or I may end up down there the entire week. I have yet to see how it goes.
I saw your videos on Youtube! Nicely done!!:D

Tell me about Great Stirrup Cay. My cruise in November will be my first time visiting this island and I would love to know where is the best place to hang out for the day? Do you have any tips and/or tricks for getting the best experience on this lovely little gem of an island?
Thanks in advance!
Take a look at Ports of Call message board under Private Islands. A poster took some lovely pictures of GSC and gave some details on the island.

As an aside, it isn't an "honor bar" in the traditional sense.
In the "good old days" you were supposed to report anything you consumed to the front desk of the hotel so they could charge you for it. Hence the term "honor bar" because you were on your honor to report your consumption. That isn't generally the case today in either hotels or on cruise ships, where an employee does an inventory of the mini bar. In some hotels the mini bar has sensors that detect if you remove anything...and you could even get charged for something that you picked up to look at but eventually returned to the mini bar.
Once upon a time while staying at the Bellagio in Vegas I moved a couple of bottles to put some left over food in the mini fridge and at checkout they tried to charge me for consumption. It took a few minutes but it was cleared up and consequently I wasn't charged. That was when I learned about not even moving them! lol

Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures! I will be there in a bit more than 3 weeks and will definitely be heading to the Lagoon! It's wonderful to have a mental picture. Looks very tranquil.

Just out of curiosity does anyone really use the Honor Bar in their cabins?

Thank you for the speedy reply! :)

What does the menu consist of? Is this an every night event? I will be celebrating my birthday on one of my nights aboard the Sky 4 night cruise and think this would be a lovely way to celebrate!

In the excitement of booking a quickie getaway I printed out my boarding documents immediately after making final payment. I have since upgraded my cabin category. Does anyone know if I need to reprint my documents with the cabin upgrade noted? My reservation number is the same. Thanks, Nancy

To bad it's so overcast. Been that way all day here in South Florida.

If anyone is interested the Norwegian Sky is now leaving the Port Of Miami. It's awesome to watch!

I bought my Sky cruise a bit over a month ago, 4 nights, Inside guarantee. Today I upgraded to an Ocean view at no extra charge. If they go any lower I'll just pay the difference and get into a Balcony! :D

Have a wonderful getaway! Please let us know how she was when you get back.

Oops I just saw you are doing Cunard. Not familiar with them. I just got off the Norwegian board and forgot that when I read your post. Good luck.

Did you book through NCL? I have been talking with my PCC and he said that I have until the night before the cruise to upgrade my cabin due to price drops.

There may be closer places to the port but take a look at http://www.resortsforaday.com. The Viva Wyndham Resort is offering an $89.00pp all inclusive package. I stayed there last summer and it was fine. They offer a buffet and beach grill plus all the drinks are included.

Looking forward to hearing about your Sky cruise!

Thank you so much for the wonderful review and pictures! I will be doing my first NCL cruise on the Sky in late October and have not read many reviews on a positive note. Yours was greatly appreciated. Glad you had a good time!

I am looking very forward to my solo 55th birthday cruise on the Norwegian Sky for 4 nights on October 20th! :D

For a true service dog, anyone allergic or who doesn't like dog hair just has to suck it up. I'm sure one would agree that a little discomfort is in order for a person who really needs the help of a true service dog.
But for the comfort/emotional support/anxiety dogs, this is where people have to complain, because they are not covered under ADA regulations. We had a lady bring her to community meetings and said the dog was her emotional support dog and let this dog sit on the furniture. I called the association and ask for their stance on emotional support dogs and they said they only adhere to the ADA guidelines and emotional support dogs are not allowed in the building. They told the lady that she could no longer bring her dog into any of the buildings.
For the record, I have a beautiful 3 1/2 year old Old English Sheepdog who I love deeply. I take her on road trips. We stay in dog allowed hotels and houses (I always call the property and check their policies, including weight restriction, before I book them, I pick up after her and she is crated when I leave her alone in someone else's property (even though she is not crated at home). If dog owners are not responsible, some day those of us that are, will not be allowed to travel with our pets. I would never try to get Sadie on a plane or ship or in a restaurant or other place of business, because she is, after all, a pet and doesn't belong there.
I too have an Old English Sheepdog that would behave better than most children I've seen. He doesn't shed and sticks to me like glue. I would love to be able to have Seamus accompany me on a cruise but I love him too much to expose him to the stress of being outside his calm, comfortable environment!:)

Hysterical! I will ask my boss to get a close up pic when he's on the Getaway next Saturday. Then he can look at me like I've finally lost my mind. After reading your awesome review I suggested that ship to him for his 50th B-day/19th Anniversary. That ship is getting huge raves amongst the Managers at Publix Supermarkets down here in Florida!
