  1. Thank you @mahdnc for the wonderful information in this whole topic!  We will be sailing on this same itinerary on March 2, 2024 and this has been so helpful.  I have one question for anyone on this forum that has successfully applied for the visa to Vietnam.  I have seen multiple posts on other forums, but the answers vary.  When you applied for the visa for Vietnam, did you file for a single entry or multiple entry visa?

We have been there a couple of times. Windsor castle is full day tour, pre book. Hampton Court full day. Tour of London full day. Westminster Abby couple of hours. Kensington Palace a couple of hours. Most museums are free, War museum 1/2 day, British History Museum full day +. Oyster card you can pre load and travel on the subway and busses. Hop On Hop off is another good deal.

    Great information.  Thanks!

    • Suggestions on transfers for a group of 12 from London to Southampton (we haven't booked our hotel yet).  We've never sailed out of Southampton before and we are all flying into Heathrow.  We will have four days in London pre-cruise.

I have no experience with London, but I am interested in your comment that you are staying 4 day in London pre-cruise.  I am considering something similar and wondering if you've planned what to do and see during those 4 days?  I'd be very interested to hear.

    Thanks!

  5. We will be tendering to Villefranche in September.  In looking at options for exploring Nice, I found the Le Grand Tour which is a hop on hop off bus tour.  My question is related to getting from the spot we will be dropped by the tender and reaching the HOHO bus.  It appears walkable to stop #5 which is the Villefranche Citadel, but I'm looking for confirmation.

Does anyone have an experience in doing this or something similar in this port?

  6. I called Celebrity this morning to check pricing of Wi-Fi for a 10-day cruise leaving in 3 days.  I asked if I could get the Elite discount if I purchased Wi-Fi on board, thinking I would use the free minutes and then purchase a couple days into the cruise.  I was told that I could not get the Elite discount on board, so I purchased for the full trip.  The full price was less than I expected.  $240 for 2 devices on a 10 day cruise - $12 per device per day.  The regular price listed on the Celebrity site is $20 per device per day.

Bring all necessary paperwork-passport, vaccination card and paperwork for the covid test.   At least in LA in January, the blue line passengers seemed to move faster since so few of them and you will probably go there before security.

I understand the documents you listed, but shouldn’t I also have something that proves I am booked on this cruise?

  8. As many others have reported, I cannot get the Medallion app to work and we sail in 3 weeks. I’ve also tried the website with no luck. I called Princess and got a ticket number, but no progress on the ticket. I know I can show up at the port and they will get it working for me, but I’m not sure exactly what I need to bring to get through security and get to the right people. Can anyone fill me in?

The name on your airline (and cruise) ticket must agree with your passport.

Our passports correctly list our first name, middle name and surname.  The airline tickets show our first name and middle names combined in the first name area.  So first name is Kathy middle name is Lynn and shows correctly on the Princess booking, but on the airlines website, the first name is Kathylynn.  This is on the current booking and our next booking scheduled for August has the same issue.

  10. We are getting close to sailing on our first cruise with Princess and booked return flights through EZair.  Everything seemed to be OK but when I go to American Airlines website, I see the names on our tickets are wrong.  They have our first and middle names in the first name field for both my husband and myself.  I called American and they said I needed to have Princess correct it.  They even suggested having Princess remove the middle name because they the middle name is not necessary for the reservation.  I called Princess and after waiting for 2 hours, I was told that everything was correct on their side.  I tried to politely insist that they needed to make this correction, but was told that if I insisted on removing our middle names from the reservation, they would not be responsible if we were unable to board the ship because our names would not match our passports.  The agent I spoke with said she had been working for Princess for 15 years and had seen this before and it was never a problem.  Has anyone else experienced this issue?

  11. Staying at the Comfort Suite Airport/Cruise Hotel near FLL Question what is this $5,00 fee to get into the port and airport that this shuttle company was quoting , as if everyone had to pay this fee

That has been our experience. I was doubtful at first, but we see this charge consistently every year we cruise.

  12. Sky Safari is completely booked through Celebrity when we will be there, so they are not an option. Welcome Tours also offers a Zipline tour, but I haven't been able to find any reviews. Has anyone had any experience doing Zipline with Welcome Tours?
