I recently found a YouTube channel, Cowboy Slots, and he made up a video specifically about slot machines on cruise ships. There was some stuff there that really surprised me, and I think you'll be surprised too. Anyway, here's a link to the video. Enjoy, and good luck!

They met last Thursday, is this another meeting? Apparently not much was discussed last week as far as I can find online. Just crew repatriation and color coding the ships
Maybe, I thought I saw where there was going to be a meeting this Thursday.

Cruise executives are supposed to be meeting with the CDC this week. I highly suspect August is going to be another month of cancellations

The chances of me ever going to Seattle again are ranging between zero and zero

Anyone going to be on Anthem 4/28?

One other issue I've had is that except for the Royal poker tournament on Allure last year where they hired dedicated poker dealers, most of the dealers don't know the game or some of the rules very well. The floor managers also aren't very sure of the rules. I've had a few disputes on a ruling when I had to ask the manager to consult Robert's Rules of Poker.

The rake is usually quite high on ships as well, so it might not be worth playing. It was something like 15% up to $10 or some other outrageous number.
They rake 10% up to $15 on Royal. Probably why they changed from 1-2 NLH to 1-3 NLH. Better shot at getting a rake on every pot. Word of advice, watch the rake carefully, some dealers will round up the pot and take an extra buck or two. They have those 50 cent chips there for a reason, make the dealer rake correctly.

I am curious to hear what past cruisers thought of the Meet and Mingle on the Anthem. Did you enjoy it? Do people actually mingle? What does the crew of the Anthem do at this event? Please share your thoughts.
This isn't exclusive to Anthem, it's always been hit or miss for me. Sometimes there's a group that seems to enjoy engaging with others, sometimes it's been a bunch of sour faces just there to see if they can score a bottle of wine.

I'll bringing my son, his girlfriend, and my grandchildren (grandson almost 1, granddaughter 2) on the 10/30 sailing. Do they have any Halloween activities on board?

I can't thank you enough for your review. We will be on this same itinerary in just two more days. BTW, forget the AP chem, your future is definitely going to be spending your time cruising and writing reviews!

Thanks for the info and especially the map, helped my decision to go for it in two weeks. I'll post a review and some pics when I get back

I'll be on Allure for the first time in December, wondering where the smoking areas are, outside of the casino. Thanks guys

Well, I just got off a cruise on Anthem yesterday. She's a beautiful ship, good entertainment, great dining once you get used to the format, still has that new ship smell. And with all that, I STILL want Explorer back in Bayonne.

Found it! Thanks again.

The rake on Royal is 10%, $15 max on 2-5, I think $8 max on 1-3

Since most jackpots on slots and the big payout on video poker only pay for max credits, I play the max. You can't hit a home run if you don't swing for the fences

We will be on Anthem of The Seas, October 1/16, sailing to Bermuda. We are wondering if we should notify the Casino Host that we will be on board before the sailing, and if so, who do I email? Is there any benefit to early notification? We are Casino VIP. Thanks for any help that is offered.
Rhonda :)
I'll be on the same cruise with you. If there's not a welcome letter waiting in the stateroom, I'll track down the casino host when they open. Basically I just want my free drinks and sticker so I wont pay the 5% getting chips at the poker table.

Outside is fine, I just want to be in the areas it's allowed so as not to bother the nonsmokers
-
Not aft. Deck 5 aft is off the ship, behind Two70. ;) :D
Deck 5 starboard, outside the "Art Gallery".
The casino allows smoking.
Thank you for the info. Just what I needed to know

By starting off a thread with an argumentative statement, aren't you already setting the tone for a negative response , through a passive aggressive approach.

So did you have any information to add? Or just trolling for an argument?

Without all the negative replies that are sure to come, anyone know where the smoking areas are on Anthem?
-
Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for and more

2 days away from my next cruise on my favorite ship. Anyone have recent menus for the Alaska cruises?
-
Exactly what I needed to know, thanks. And yeah, the rake is pretty steep, and you have to watch that the dealers don't round up and take extra rake, or rake an uncalled bet. Called a few out on that my last cruise.
