Last time we tried the in-app messaging, it sent messages okay but we couln't get any notification (bell, tone etc.)  Does the new app do that/

We're Platinum, but traveloing with our first-time cruiser small children.  I'm guessing they couldn't go with us?

Though the slot machine probably costs less!

My understanding is that the Escape Haven 2 BR will hold 3 guersts: 2 in a double bed below and 1 in the bunk bed above.  Is this accurate? I'd rather not haver anyone sleep in the living room, though I know that's an option.

DorothyB is right, for anone else who needs it you can choose who to add on the SUMMARY tab.  I was going at it through the EXPLORE AND PLAN tab.  Two huge surprises: first that it works one way but not the other, and second that the CHAT agent gave me bum info.

I've always upgraded my "free" internet to unlimited so I could stay in touch. I just learned today that my only option is t0 upgrade BOTH guests in my cabin! So $218 for my 7 day cruise!  Boy, $30/day fot internet, that's ridiculous.

Surprise!!! The new app PROMISES that if you book tours with them they'll HOLD THE SHIP (direct quote) if you're delayed. Based on what I've read on CC I find that rather unlikely.

The NCL VIP Sea Lions and Manatee Encounter in Cozumel sounds like fun for some in our group, but not all. The Chankanaasb National Park Day Pass sounds like ther same thing but without swimming with the animals, which would be perfect for the rest of us. Has anyone already divided their group between these two activities and can say if they're truly the same? And if so, did both groups get to take the same bus? I asked here instead of the PORTS page because this specifically pertains to these two tours from MCL.

Regarding lashing the furniture, it's possble they just go down the row of cabins opening the dividers as they go.  I have seen them open them to wash down the balconies.

Once a day is the deal now, except for Haven rooms. If you ask you can probably choose service in the morning and then make your own bed at night or have steward make up bed at night and change back to couch in the morning yourself.  Neither is a big deal but the second option I think is easier.

Does being in Haven help with transportation to and from Great Stirrup Caye?  Videos on line make it look like a nightmare.

I'v used the BOGO deal once and flights were okay, not what I would have picked.  but next time I thought I might use it the fare for first passenger was more than I would have paid total for both passengers so not a good deal that time.  So be sure to do your due diligence (including Southwest if that works, because baggfage free).and YMMV.

I never drink so always turn down beverage to save gratuities on  it. Sometimes I take dining, sometimes I don't.  Never had a problem with that.  Excursions is just a discount, so no reason to delete that. Wi-Fi no charges, so use it or don't.

Wife and I are both platinum, traveling with adult children. Can I use 1 platinum with one guest and wife use other platinum at same restaurant, same table, so the 4 of us can eat one meal together for free?

I always tip my butler, and concierge.  And I tip my restaurant server and steward if I am very pleased with service.  But I also always remember that butler and concierge are not working out of the goodness of their hearts, just hoping they'll bet enough tips to live on.  From what I've read these are coveted positions and are paid a bigger salary than many others on the ship. If others would like the job it must be a good job! So I tip well, but it's because they've done a good job, not out of pity like for a beggar.

Perhaps they choose a menu based on what ingredients are available at good prices in the ports where thery stock up?

I actually went to breakfast in Haven in only my socks on disembarkation day...my wife had packed ALL my shoes the night before.  Our server was kind enough to scare up some slippers for me to wear off the ship.

Go ahead and skip the buffet...we do!  We like to be waited on in a sit-down restaurant.  BUT THEN WE GO TO THE BUFFET JUST FOR A CREPE LATER.  No reason we can't have two desserts, or even more (just in case you pass the ice cream or the dessert case in the buffet and something calls your name).

Several times I've booked the shuttle to the airport where I then rented a car to continue my vacation.  In each case I just picked a flight number that left the airport at a time aboujt 3 hours after I wanted to arrive.  Remember, since you're not really flying you can use a flight to ANYWHERE, not necessarily heading for home.

Your mileage may vary, but I got all the way to the top of the drop slide and was told I couldn't use it with my gold wedding band on.  According to attendant it was due to concerns it might get caught on seams or something and cause injury. Absolutely no metal of any kind, no way.

One word of warning about swimsuits: on several of the water slides they allow NO metal...no attachment, zipperss or fasteners on swimsuit, no jewelry.  And they don't check until you have walked all the wasy up all those stairs.

We like the Holiday Inn Exprress Manhattan Midtown West.  Typical Holiday Inn, but smallish rooms, And an easy walk from Times Square and about 2 blocks from the pier, piece of cake to walk there dragging your luggage.
