1. For those who have sailed on the Miracle what is the typical time early debarkation begins. I am looking at a return flight home out of LAX departing at 12:10. T3rying to decide if there is adequate time for this flight.

I would recommend you carry off your own luggage if you have an early flight. When we got off the Miracle last year it was crazy. One fella was takin away cause he got so irate cause the luggage was late.

  2. The Splendor fit so I think a Dream class would fit. Where it def would be an issue is with Alaska sailings.

The dream class ships are quite a bit bigger. Plus I am pretty sure Splendor couldnt go to Kawaii. So why would they send a large ship that would be so limited on ports in Hawaii and Alaska. And having a hard time filling it. It wouldn't make any sence. Plus the port in LA has a hard time handling the people on the Miracle. Dream class would be a nightmare.

  3.
Yes, over and over again. Your post count on this thread has more than doubled the second poster. We get it. You're a "Carnival Cheer Leader And Proud of it!," as you state in your signature. You're going to have to learn to get over it. There are people who do not like Carnival - me being one of them - and no matter how many times you post, you're not going to change anything.
Lol. Maybe in 2017 after my Anthem of the Seas cruise I will change my signature to RCI chearleader and proud of it. Then I will go to Carnival threads and torment them.
  4.
You buttress your criticism of people's first hand experience of your beloved cruise line with something you read on the internet. The OP enjoyed their cruise but felt it was not for them. Get over it. You have no other expberience but Carnival.
I am over it. I have not insulted RCI. I took what the OP was saying that RCI never has break downs. I was just pointing out that they do. And I have stated many times I am planning on going on Anthem of the Seas in February 2017. 2018 I will be doing a Baltic cruise on NCL . I'm just stating my opinion. You don't have to agree with me.
  5.
First hand knowledge of what the.y speak? Im lost. No I havent tried any other cruise line yet. I was actually thinking about Anthem of the Seas in February 2017 dispite all bad reviews. But now I'm not so sure.
Carnie, why so harsh??
That was an RCI loyal going on about first hand knowledge about me reading reviews. I find it funny that you aren't telling him he is being to harsh. Oh wait he is an RCI loyal. Yes now I am being harsh. I like Carnival and I probably will like RCI. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. This going back and forth can go on forever.
  6.
I can easily picture this! I've sailed Carnival Triumph once on a 4 night cruise, and didn't care for the incredibly foul comedy club that was not at all funny or the cruise director who couldn't complete a sentence without "booty" in it as in "Come on and shake your booty". I've sailed Disney and Royal Caribbean out of the same port, and the guests were quite different from those on that Carnival cruise. Many more guys in tank top and ball caps on Carnival. I do know that some are fiercely loyal to Carnival, but it's Disney or Royal Caribbean for me right now.
They do have family comedy and they do give you lots of warning about the language in the adult shows.

I was quoting something that was said to me. And I dont think I was being harsh. Just because I like Carnival?
  8.
Incorrect. Businesses are most definitely held responsible if they over-serve a customer to the point of intoxication. Ask any bartender.

We just had a local bar go out of business because they over-served a customer untilI he was sloppy drunk, and said customer got into his car, crashed, and ended up paralyzed. The bar was held "partially liable" by a jury, forced to pay a little over a million dollars in damages, and had their liquor license revoked by the state.
I know that but I don't agree with it. So if I drink at home then drive and kill someone then who do I blame? Maybe the person at the register in the liqour store. All I am saying is people need to take responsibility for their own actions drunk or not.I'm sure the alcohol wasn't forced down there neck.
  9. To throw another twist into the Carnival conversation, look at the history of Man Over Boards. It is littered with Carnival ships. Back in '09 there were 8 MOBs in 8 months including 2 in back to back weeks in Tampa Bay.

You can't fix stupid. Most overboards are being drunk. And I am not sure how that is carnivals fault. If I drive drunk and kill someone I have no one to blame but myself.

  10. Our last Carnival cruise a couple of years back (as in, they made us an offer we couldn't refuse ... under $400 for 7 nights) actually validated our previous contentions ... it's just not for us.

Don't get me wrong ... they've got to be doing something right, with so many ships in the water, not to mention ownership of Holland America, Princess, Costa, Cunard, Windstar, Seabourn (72 ships at last count) ... as much as I'd like to, I just can't knock success.

What I've observed is Carnival's marketing strategy, aimed largely at folks who've either never cruised before, or who vacation infrequently. It's pretty simple ... you get to travel on a floating hotel, to places you'd never dreamed of visiting, enjoying an endless array (and quantity) of food, be entertained, and generally just let go ... all for a price you can well afford (that is, until you see your bar tab and all the other optional expenses). You can pay the cruise off in a year or two on your Carnival credit card, earn a few perks, and get to do it all over again when your balance becomes manageable. Nothing wrong here ... it serves a need for an inexhaustible number of potential first-time passengers.

Having never cruised before, most of these folks have no idea what the generally accepted protocol is, so they just do their thing ... shorts, t-shirts and baseball caps at dinner is just an indication of attitude, if for no other reasons than, (1) they're not aware of what should be expected, and/or (2) the staff doesn't enforce whatever rules and regs are in place. They're having a ball, and will be telling all their friends what a great time they had. In the meantime, Carnival's cash registers are working overtime, so everyone wins.

This is not to say that we haven't run into obnoxious passengers (sober or otherwise), out-of-control kids, lapses in service, and other such matters on Royal ... but the incidents are few and far between, and issues are often resolved expeditiously and courteously. Hey ... things happen when 3000+ people are in a confined space for any length of time ... just seems to happen more often on Carnival ships.

    Al

I have to disagree with you that Carnival is a first time cruise only. If that is the case where did all these platinum and diamond passengers come from? From what I have read is that Carnival is a more casual cruise line. Which a lot of people like. Me for one. Im on vacation I don't wanna have to get dressed up every dinner. Mind you I don't go to dinner with a tank top and daisy duke shorts either. I don't mind dressing up a couple of times. If RCI is formal dress every night RCI is not the cruise line for me.
