Will be arriving late morning. Is there anything to see in the afternoon in the area or walk to and any suggestions for a casual dinner? How is the area to walk around?
Thsnks!
We love walking around San Pedro, a lot of vintage and antiques shops for browsing, always felt safe walking the area. Casual dining, as indicated above, San Pedro Brewing Company is a block away from your hotel, trypical bar/pub fare. Excellent italian food at Raffaelo. For breakfast, around the corner from the Crowne Plaza is the Happy Diner, family owned, friendly service, hole in the wall with really good food, suggest getting there earlier than later to avoid the lines.

I wonder how feasible it would be for NCL to schedule an an adult only cruise to see what the demand would be. 🤔
They wouldn’t want to give up the revenue from the soda packages, go karts, laser tag, etc.

My upcoming cruise to the Panama Canal includes 2 nights hotel in Miami pre-cruise and 1 night hotel in Panama City post cruise. Both hotels are Hilton’s and I have Gold status in HHonors. Does anyone know if I can add the information to the booking? Either via NCL or when I check-in?
You can add the information online at Hilton dot cm or when you check in, Do it all the time,no problem.

No. $4.95 fee for continental breakfast (plus 20% gratuity).
Is Norwegian Cruise Line now charging for room service?
Norwegian Cruise Line has introduced an enhanced room service menu. The new menu offers an expanded selection for breakfast, in addition to a wider variety of options available 24 hours. Individual items on the menu remain available on a complimentary basis and a convenience charge of up to $9.95 USD will be added to each order placed (Morning coffee, continental breakfast and orders placed by guests sailing in The Havenwill not attract a charge)*. A 20% gratuity and beverage service charge will be added for non-complimentary beverages and special occasion items.

Best cerviche I've ever had was at El Caloran on the malecon, next to Augies. 👍

I'd disagree. Uber is cheapest.
A shuttle curbside in the easiest, but probably more than double the cost of Uber. Uber is not easy at LAX since you have to use a shuttle to get to the Uber/taxi pick-up lot. People have to decide cost vs convenience.
We've always walked from terminal 1 to the Uber/Lyft pick up area, takes us 5 minutes, piece of cake. 🙂

It was mentioned that the Crowne Plaza is only 3 blocks away from the cruise terminal. Is that easy walking with luggage? I’m mainly inquiring if we can roll the luggage or will we need to carry it (if the walk surface wasn’t the best for rolling). We are staying there for the first time next April.
Piece of cake, 10 minutes tops walking to the cruise terminal.

They do not charge you extra. But, at a minimum, gratuities are expected to be given to the butler and concierge. They do not receive anything from the DSC.
Thank you

If you have prepaid gratuities for a balcony cabin and your bid is accepted for a Haven upgrade, how is the difference in the gratuity amount handled?

We were going to book the 17 night Los Angeles - Miami cruise departing on 11/2/2023 out of Long Beach but discovered the cost difference was negligible to leave 3 days earlier from Seattle on 10/29/2023. It's going to be fun to have the ship to ourselves for those 3 days for the bulk of the cruisers for this voyage will be cruising out of Los Angeles (according to our travel agent). Our last cruise on NCL was to the Mexican Riviera on the Joy in March 2020, it was the last voyage before NCL shut down for the Pandemic. We were impressed with the Joy and didn't hesitate to book the Encore.

Currently on the Joy, no one wearing masks, ship is spotless, lots of hand sanitizer, everyone using it for a change. Arrive LA tomorrow morning, hoping all goes smooth, understandably embarkation was a nightmare
Self-assist disembarkation a breeze this morning, from our cabin to our Uber, 45 minutes

I hope you have the unlimited beverage package. You're going to need a drink as soon as you're on board!
You have to pay California sales tax on all beverages while at Port. We left late last week and paid a few bucks in taxes ourselves

I got off the Escape yesterday. I think somebody said we were 2/3 full which means I really wouldn't want to see it full as everything got booked up right away so anybody who didn't probably missed out on a bunch of stuff. You were lucky if you found a pool chair and it was long waits for drinks.

Just got off the Joy this morning, ship was spotless the entire cruise, staff constantly spraying and wiping, guests cooperating with hand washing, sanitizer etc., No guests or staff wearing masks. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again

Be prepared for chaos leaving the ship like last Sunday. NCL needs to do something about the San Pedro port problem. No signs anywhere. People cutting in line way ahead of others trying to follow some kind of order. I will not got back to that port.
45 minutes to get off the Joy self assist, piece of cake
