  1. Rain poncho probably the best. Mostly need to protect the cameras and sometimes you don't even get wet is you stay out of the spray.
That is so helpful. I forgot that the cameras will need protection too.

  2. I expect to get wet while exploring Iguazu Falls. So, who has advice on how to dress in a hot humid climate near the falls? A rain poncho seems like it would be so warm you'd sweat through your clothes and no poncho means you will be soaked by the spray. Bathing suit and cover up perhaps???

  3. The advantage of a FCD is that it can be used up to four years. It can also be cancelled and the funds returned to you. FCD's are refundable if you change your mind on a cruise for which you have used it. It just goes back into your "bank" to be used on another cruise.

My strategy is to book cruises very early and if something better comes along, it is easy to move your FCD to a better deal/cruise.

FCD ($100) sure beats having to pay a full deposit for a cruise that is more than one year away.

It was interesting to read that one can purchase an FCD for a friend that is not on the ship.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my question. I wondered if I wasn't fully understanding the FCD.

  4. Any future cruise deposits purchased on board ( I keep two on hand in case of good deals and to book early) can be used when you get home. You do not need to book and use them while on board.
I didn't realize you didn't have to specify a booking when making a future cruise deposit. That's helpful. What's your strategy to make the most of them?

  5. We were upgraded to a Lanai on our recent cruise. It was such a nice surprise. Do keep your curtains closed in the evening. The contrast of the interior lighting when it is darker outside eliminates the privacy that you enjoy during daylight hours. Our lanai was the last one and had a non lanai cabin next to us. Our non lanai neighbors saw fit to help themselves to our deck chairs on many occasions. I didn't find a good solution to this problem and did not wish to confront them myself.

  6. Yes, the T-pool is larger than a hot tub, but there are a few other differences.

Foremost, in a T-pool the water is supposed to be body temperature, while in a hot tub it is, well, hot. The T-pool is safer for people with heart conditions, who shouldn't be in hot tubs.

T-pool water has lots of minerals in it, which a hot tub typically doesn't have.

The T-pool has areas with different strengths of pressure forced out, which is great if there's a problem spot that needs a little massaging.

The T-pools tend to have a lounging area where you can just lie back, soak, and relax. Divine!

I love the T-pools, and typically sign up for the package for the length of the cruise. On the ships with just a hot tub? I save my money for something else.

Thank you RuthC. We are headed for a cruise around Cape Horn which can be cold and windy. I was thinking a Thermal Pass would be so nice.

  7. Have posted this before, but will again. Before sending in that laundry, lay it all out and snap a picture, just in case something comes up missing it's easier to show them a picture then try to describe the item;p.
    Good tip! [emoji4]

  8. Butting in here to ask a clothing care question.(Apologies to the OP.) So many fabrics require cold water wash and delicate dry. Are the laundry services reliable for observing these standards?
