  1. I'm curious if they want steal players from other cruise lines. They do it all the time on land based casino's. We're diamond members with Caesars, so companies like Venetian or MGM will give us the same status with their club, to get us to play at their casino. My wife and I are currently "hot" status with NCL. I wonder if we asked, could we get a casino rate to try Princess?

No, OPC doesn't do that. How would they know your level of play?

  2. I think the sushi selection is dictated by safe food handling procedures. Unless its made to order, it can go bad quickly. Most of it isnt real sushi anyhow.

The thought of supermarket sushi comes to mind, ewwww

  3. We have been places where there is a food dog checking people as the get off. If the dog gets excited the subject is taken to another room. Fines can be high

Ships staff will tell you food isn't allowed off, even coffee has been disposed of sometimes.

Never heard of a service dog get exited when they find anything. Last thing they need is more excitement for the handler at the port to deal with, they sit when they find anything, most times they will confiscate the contraband before its a blatent attempt to conceal or smuggle.

  4. Last year Mom and I cruised b2b on the CB. We had family join us on each part. I spend 100x more in the casino than any of my travel mates (I am my father's daughter). But everyone else got casino offers soon after that cruise. We did book balconies for $50 pp for a 5 day cruise. Unfortunately we were unable to make that cruise as my mom ended up in the hospital.

Six months later I'm looking to book a cruise. Every time I go to the select cabin my price goes down substantially. I don't know why but hey I'll take it. Booked a 7 day eastern Caribbean in the fall on Regal. Get an extended angled balcony midship for $100s lower than advertised rate.

Then I see the second passenger 1/2 price. Book 5 day in January. Price is so good I call up and book next balcony for my sister. It is on this call I learned the rate was lower because it was a casino rate.

Wish I had something outlining the details of this offer. I might find another cruise to book!

Check in the deals section in yiur cruise personlizer, it may list the casino offer there. I noticed my raters were cheaper too, called the OPC and they explained it to me. The offer is good for any bookings done before january 2016, up to 33% off.

  5. We had this happen to us when going from Platinum to Elite. A glitch in the Princess booking engine does not update your status after your booking. Your TA or Princess should be able to have that information updated. You will be Elite on your cruise.

Status isnt updated after booking, its updated after cruising.

  6. Casino offer last year was much better than this year. We each received Casino cash and free drinks while in the casino. Sure cut down on our bar bill. This year only room rate reduction.

Those were specific cruises, they still offered it, but needed to be booked by may 31, included cash, drinks, gifts, etc.... room rate reduction was included too

  7. Maybe something has changed since our last 3 B2B's from January to March but all my OBC prepurchases came through directly in Canadian $ as Princess California while others on the Canadian Princess Cruisers topic reported that their bills sometimes showed Vancouver. This leeds me to think that it doesn't matter if it shows Vancouver or California but it is good to ask exactly ehat amount in Canadian wikl be processed to your credit card.

Same here, doesn't matter where its charged. They look at how you paid for the cruise by your booking number

  8. Only VIP cruises have casino cash, the non-vip cruises only have discount. Call the OPC to see if you are included.

depending level of play, depend what discount you get

some cruisers have it listed in the "DEALS" section of your cruise personlizer.

  9. OK, as some of you do and do not know, I am surprising my girlfriend by taking her on an over night cruise, Seattle going home to Vancouver.

I have never been on an over night cruise. I'm assuming it's like any other night, nothing special about it but let me know what I do need to know.

For those of you worried that one night isn't enough to REALLY show her cruising, which I know some of you were. We have officially booked a Pacific Coastal, Vancouver to San Francisco!! We've both been to San Fran but not together and we wanted to go this year but it didn't work out. Our plan was Alaska next year but this seemed more fitting. It was the first travel destination we bonded over--and no, not because we're a female couple. :p

Any suggestions on how to make the most of an over night cruise, have atter!!! :)

Antrack cascades to seattle, morning train ride, then taxi to port.

Tell her the treat is the train ride.

    I'm planning that myself
