  1. This is our first MSC cruise to Bermuda at the end of April. We have always sailed out of Manhattan and will also be parking at the terminal since we live in NJ.  Thanks for all the information.

  2. I cannot believe that they do not let you pay the difference after using the drink package maximum. Every other drink package I purchased had that option. Celebrity and Princess had premium or ultimate packages that included everything including water and specialty coffees.  I do not plan on purchasing the Cunard package because of that discrepancy. It would bother me that I had to pay full price for a drink when I had already paid for a drink package. Especially since we will be on board for 21 days.

  3. I have also been on several different lines with their drink packages but it seems that Cunard's is by far the worst.  I like a drink package so I don't have to worry about what I am ordering. There is usually a Premium package with most lines that include all premium alcohol, coffees and water. It would not make sense that I would not get any type of discount on a drink that was over the 12.00 price-line. I will pay by the drink on our upcoming B2B transatlantic.

  4. We are booked on  the round trip transatlantic in late July out of New York  on the QM2 and were just discussing this tonight with my sisters who will be traveling with us. We are going to bring on board a case of wine as well as a case of water and  2 bottles of Hendricks Gin. We have looked on the boards here about the  drink package and it seems that they have not really perfected it. We have had the drink package with Celebrity and it included everything with no up charge so it was well worth the money. If I paid 70.00 PP per day and they up charged me for anything I would not be happy. We have also had the drink package on Princess , Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. Celebrity is by far the most inclusive.  These boards seemed to suggest that the Cunard line like to nickel and dime their passengers and that would make for a very annoying cruise. Any thoughts  or updates about drink prices on Cunard?

  5. I was on a recent 14 day transatlantic on the Pearl in April  of this year and have decided that I am personally done with Norwegian. The cruise suffered from Noro-virus which of course was no fault of the Norwegian cruise line BUT their customer service was the worst  I have ever seen. I had been on one prior transatlantic/Mediterranean in 2001 on the  Norwegian Dream and was just as unhappy with their customer service and had convinced myself that I would NEVER sail on them again. After writing  a letter we were given a discount to cruise them again and decided to sail from NY to Bermuda and were not impressed. We then cruised on several different cruise lines and had avoided Norwegian completely. My daughter and her husband surprised us with a NY to Bermuda cruise as a Christmas present on the Breakaway a few years ago and we had a great time. That  is the only reason we decided to give them another chance. I agree with Norwegian and what they decided with the decisions on this cruise and find the behavior of the passengers to be UNACCEPTABLE. Any passengers that act this way should never be allowed to board again. The IDIOT on that video needs to be shown that behavior that he showed is NEVER acceptable. Those of us that truly  know how to SPEAK intelligently should never have to feel unsafe with that MOB mentality. Though I do not intend on sailing on their ships again, I feel their decisions were correct.

  6. We were on the April 28th transatlantic and I agree that the staff did a fantastic job of trying to control the virus but the customer service by the desk staff was terrible. I think that the excursions were a nightmare and Norwegians method for getting each excursion off the ship created an extremely hostile environment.  My wife was actually frightened by how angry passengers became out of frustration especially when we were in Dublin.

  7. Sailed on the transatlantic Pearl April 28, 2019 with the noro outbreak. Though we had great time despite all of the problems we were disappointed that the Spa thermal pool was closed most days. Sent a letter to Norwegian  and they responded to me with a full refund of the Spa charges. The customer service on board was less than expected and we have decided that after two terrible transatlantic cruises with Norwegian it is time to chose another line. QM2 July 2020  b2b and we will see if we can  finally have a pleasant crossing.

  8. I am on the QM 2 transatlantic for a b2b July 31, 2020. I went on Amazon and found one for 99.00 from Kenneth Cole.  Was surprised at the quality.  Just need to buy shirts ,already have the studs and cummerbund.

  9. We did the luggage valet program offered by the city of Seattle when we were on our Alaska cruise on Celebrity. I believe that there is a time limit on when your flight leaves in order to be eligible. We used it and it was fantastic to not see your bags until we landed in Newark,NJ and were able to spend some additional  time in Seattle before we left.

  10. We sailed on the Celebrity Solstice in September out of Seattle and the weather was fantastic. We did an excursion in Juneau with a helicopter ride that landed on the glaciers and later that day when we came back  to the ship we were swimming in the outdoor pool. If the weather permits I am sure that everything would be available.  Alaska was one of my favorite cruises.

  11. I cannot believe that this could happen on any cruise. The last minute notice is totally unacceptable, and everyone should have been given the option to cancel with a full refund. I am booked on the April 28th TA on the Pearl and had looked at this cruise also. I did not like the itinerary and would have been livid if this had happened to our cruise. I booked it so that I could go to Normandy and return to Ireland since we were there last August. We were debating buying some cruise next certificates for our next cruise and were tying to decide where we wanted to go. After this nightmare we booked our next TA with QM2 in July 2020 and I think I will avoid any further cruises with Norwegian. I hope that everyone is able to make the best of this situation and I wish you happy sailing and perhaps in the end Norwegian will do right by everyone.

  12. Will  be watching the replies.  Just booked the July 31, 2020 transatlantic from NY. Looking for ideas for Iceland. Will be there with 3 of my sisters. Leaving at the end of April 2019  on  the Norwegian Pearl transatlantic and almost booked the QM2 2019 cruise.

  13. We cruised on Celebrity Solstice and had an incredible experience from Seattle round trip. You will enjoy any experience with any Alaskan cruise regardless on what ship unless you have achieved status with a particular line. As you can see we have traveled with a variety of lines but  usually choose the itinerary  over the ship or line. What ever you decide have a great time.

  14. I think that you will find that the price is well worth it.  We are on the April 28th transatlantic and booked the spa immediately. Had  the spa on the Breakaway and used it every day. Have had the spa on Celebrity Solstice to Alaska and Star Princes to Hawaii and Norwegian Breakaway  was very nice. I'm hoping that the Pearl is just as nice. Great idea since you will be at sea for 7 days!!

  15. We bought the weekly passes on our Breakaway Bermuda cruise a few years ago. If I remember correctly you could buy a day pass is there were any available. It all depended on how many weekly passes had been sold. Also I believe that they would also be available on port days.

  16. They are way too late,  I just booked a transatlantic on the Cunard QM2 from NY to Canada/ Iceland/ Scotland and Southampton. I am  on the Pearl transatlantic on April 28th, 2019 from NY to Ireland, France , England, Belgium and The Netherlands.  I don't understand why they wait so long.

  17. Our first transatlantic was in April of 2001 from Miami to the Mediterranean. Azores , Spain, France and then three ports in Italy and then flew home. The weather was perfect and the Atlantic Ocean  was "like a sea of glass"  Very smooth sailing. We are taking our second transatlantic on April 28th on the Pearl to Northern Europe and are hoping for the same but you never know. Saw all of the videos of the Viking Sky and hope that nothing like that will happen.
