  1. We are on this cruise with you and just returned from a land trip with CIE tours through Ireland in August 2018. We spent the day in Cobh at the Titanic museum and we had a great time. We walked around the town a little and my daughter and son in law found a great pub that they had a great time with cruise passengers from Oceania  cruises I believe. There was no where in Ireland that we did not find great people and something to see or do.

  2. In our first few cruises we always started with the drinks and the souvenir glasses out by the pool.  When we sold our house we got rid of all of our "souvenir glasses" . Great memories, but we were downsizing from the big house and had no room. Now our first drink is a Hendricks dry martini for me with cocktail onions and a hot and dirty martini for my wife.  We toast to a wonderful cruise and it starts out perfectly!!!

  3. I decided to at least bid on a Haven suite after repeated emails to upgrade, I will be happy to stay in our mini suite but my wife thought it would be fun to at least bid and see what happens. We are sailing on the Pearl for a transatlantic on April 28th.  We will hope for the best and enjoy regardless!!

  4. Is this the same layout on the Pearl?? Sailing in  April on a transatlantic and hope there is a pool for my wife and I to enjoy together . I already paid for the spa because we had sailed on the Breakaway to Bermuda and loved the Thermal spa and assumed it was the same .

  5. Sailed on the Breakaway from NY to Bermuda and had a fantastic cruise. Loved the Waterfront and the entire layout of the ship. They also have a great Thermal Spa. Am currently booked on the April 28th Transatlantic on the Pearl which is smaller but looks to be a great ship also. The Breakaway is newer and you may enjoy some of the newer features.  Have a great time whatever you choose.

  6. We will be using this for the first time for our Alaska cruise. I think it sounds like a fantastic service. Who wants to lug around their bags after a relaxing vacation. Pick up luggage at the end. Perfect!!!

  7. We will be using this service for the first time after our September Alaska cruise. We are in Aqua class and would have been very disappointed if this was not available. The last thing we want to handle on disembarkation day is our luggage and getting our boarding passes. I would think that all port cites would find this as a way for cruise passengers to enjoy more of what their ports have to offer. This is the first time that I heard that "regular" passengers could not take advantage of this service. I also agree that there may be a maximum number of passengers that they could accommodate but not all passengers fly out or have flights that are too early for the service. I will post how the program works when we get back (hopefully with our luggage).

  8. We are on the September 8th sailing on the Solstice and this is our first time to Alaska. I wanted to book the helicopter glacier excursion and noticed that there are two. Pilot's choice and also the Mendenhall glacier. What is the difference between the two (beside the price) and what is the best port to do the excursion. All help is greatly appreciated.

  9. We sailed in C420 on the Star and it was worth every penny. It is just personal choice and for us the location of the suite and the perks made the cruise more enjoyable. we like to relax in the cabin and do spend time on the balcony. Our cruise was to Hawaii so the weather was warmer. Also did the Chef's Table and the ship tour. Enjoy

  10. You have to try Chefs table at least once. It was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Loved the tour with champagne and fabulous appetizers. The meal and wines were fantastic and the whole atmosphere was truly wonderful. You have to sign up as soon as you get on board because the event sells out quickly. Sabatinis was special for the suite breakfast and dinner. Can't comment on Crab shack because my DW can't eat crab. Enjoy

  11. Thank you for your post. I sailed with Celebrity several years ago on the Century and we thought it was one of the most luxurious cruises that we had taken. Since then we have cruised with others and have enjoyed the "suite " experience with HAL, Princess, Royal Caribbean and Carnival. A few weeks ago we booked an Alaskan cruise on the Solstice and were excited to sail Celebrity again. We are trying Aqua class for the first time and were looking forward to a wonderful experience. In anticipation of the cruise I started reading cruise critic for some insight of what we could expect with Celebrity. If I didn't know better I would have canceled based on what I was reading. Everyone looks at things differently and I for one cannot imagine wasting any of my cruise time with friends and family complaining about anything. Just go with the flow and enjoy that you are lucky enough to be onboard. Our first Celebrity cruise is also memorable because it was the last one with my brother in law who died unexpectedly shortly after we returned.

  12. We recently booked the Solstice for September 2017 and would like to know why the other ships are better for scenic waters?? What will we be missing by sailing on the Solstice? We were looking forward to sailing in AQ and were impressed with the comments about the Solstice for on board activities. We also preferred doing a round-trip to/from Seattle because the airfare and flights are easier and less expensive from New Jersey. Also were would enjoy a few days in Seattle before the cruise. Appreciate any feedback.

  13. We sailed on the Star in November of 2014 in the Cabo San Lucas suite (C420) over the Thanksgiving holiday. It is a great way to get a taste of the Hawaiian islands. We sailed out of San Francisco on a round trip and were blessed with great weather. As the other post stated be prepared for a lot of teens and children. We met some really nice people who were experiencing their first cruise over the holidays. Enjoy the sea days and get at least a balcony cabin to enjoy your time at sea. Good luck

  14. I'm sure it is just sour grapes on my part, but I just really wanted to know that I had the Aqua class aft cabin "locked in" for this cruise. I have always booked early and have always got the cabin that I wanted. I especially wanted my first aft cabin for Alaska.I have booked suites for my last five cruises but wanted to try Aqua class and save a few dollars. Such is life, maybe I should go for the Sky suite.

  15. I am planning a September 2017 Alaskan cruise on the Solstice. I have booked AQ-2 cabin 1533 but was hoping to book an Aqua class aft cabin located on the Penthouse deck. TA said that all are currently held. She states that many people "hold" these cabins and cancel before final payment. Are people really that selfish as to keep cabins away from those who are ready to book? It really burns me to see how people brag about how they "beat the system" with their little tricks. I'm sure we will still have a great time.
