  1. Let's not confuse the issue here. The OP fully understands they should have bought insurance, and I concur. My remark was in reference to someone saying why the heck should customer service help you at all- you didn't buy insurance! Her question was asking for feedback from passengers who have cancelled within 10 days of sailing, and what was the cruiseline's response/result. Instead, folks with nothing to add just chime in and beat the "you should have bought insurance!" drum.

It's not up to anyone but Princess to decide on the outcome for the OP. They might, as has been mentioned in a few posts, offer a compromise to a cash refund.

p.s.- I'm fully aware of how the principle of insurance works, and require no additional schooling on such. ;)

Thanks for your post! Yes, it is up to Princess and it worked out well for both Princess and for us! It also worked out well for our airlines, they gave us a full refund with our letter from the hospital.

  2. Hello CC! This is a question I could not find in the search function so I thought I'd ask the experts. As luck would have it, I did not buy insurance on this vacation. I normally do but didn't.

Has anyone ever had to cancel a cruise w/o insurance? I was advised to contact Princess Customer Relations to see if they would help me. If we canceled(we have not made the final decision yet), it would be for an emergency medical surgery for my father.

If you had to cancel and contact customer service, will they do anything to try and help you? i.e….future cruise credit, or anything?

Thanks for any advice you can provide!:confused::confused:

  3. I found the Blue Lagoon site and wonder if anyone had any problems booking directly with them. We would book with the cruise line but they are booked and part of our family booked through the cruise line and the rest of us tried but it's now booked :confused:

  4. Thanks for all the great posts about the day pass resorts. We'll be in St. Lucia in Oct and am trying to decide on whether to do a Sandals in St. Lucia or Antigua. Has anyone done both and which would you prefer? For $100 p/p, do you get any kind of access to indoor facilities like a room or hospitality suite?

  5. They did not have the adults only bungalow when I rented a bungalow so I do not know anyhting about them. I do need to let you know one important thing. Make sure to take BUG SPRAY!! Put this on immediately without hesitation. My friend had over 100 bites and it ruined the rest of her vacation. I have never seen anything like it before. I put the spray on immediately when we arrived at the bungalow so I had no bites. She waited about 10 minutes and it was too late.

Great advice! What time of year were you on the island? Does that matter or do those nasty mosquitoes come year round?

  6. Any feed back from someone who has stayed in one of these bungalows would be very much appreicated.

Yes, I'd also love to hear feedback from any recent cruisers who did the adult only bungalows... The pics I've seen really show the bungalows very close to each other. When we did the HAL bungalows there was quite a distance between each bungalow. Also, do you know if there is food service(ie the bbque) or do you have to go to the lunch area for your food?

    Thanks for any feedback!
