  1. Can you cancel FTTF after you have booked it?

Yes you certainly can. And there will be dozens of folks ready to pay for it as soon as Carnival puts it back up for sale.

BTW, I think it was worth it on prior cruises and I have purchased it again for the next one also.

  2. Looking again, it also states more delivery options available. I chose the email delivery and received eCertificates.

Those are eGift Cards. They can be used for both new and prior bookings, excursions, sail&sign, ect.

The certificates are something totally different and can only be used for new bookings.

Thannks againg to the OP for posting this today, I have been checking for months.

  3. You can always email them and ask. I emailed them several times before my cruise and they usually responded pretty quickly. I think there was once they didn't reply back and I emailed again and they replied asap. Just ask them if you are required to book a package or can you just show up and eat and drink while you are there with them. :)

I have been interested in visiting Blue Kay during our cruise in May. We were planning just to catch a cab and freelance. But today I went on the website and sent them an inquiry about reserving/paying a deposit. We'll see what they say.

  4. There are a lot of assumptions and speculation being offered here, but its really pretty simple.

What is the price protection assurance feature with Early Saver?

If you find a lower Carnival advertised fare after booking your cruise, we will honor it, issuing the difference in the form of a non-refundable onboard credit. The lower fare must be: (a) for the same ship, sailing, stateroom category and number of guests (b) available for booking at the time you submit your request for the lower rate and © a rate the guest in the cabin are eligible to receive, if special restrictions apply.

  5. dezertspray,

Thanks for the kind words. About the day passes, for the Grand Lucayan we didn't purchase in advance, just bought them at the stand near the hotel on the way out to the beach. They have a lot of room and we got there pretty early. For the BCH we did purchase in advance thru Resort For a Day dot com.

Hope you have a great time.

  6. Have enjoyed the reviews so far. Hope to see more pictures of the ship and such. Going next summer for daughters graduation gift.

Sorry we didn't take many pictures of the ship. But here are links to a couple of great reviews with a lot of pictures:

  7. Please tell me about the free lanyard you mentioned. I always encourage any new cruisers who go with me to buy one and bring it along.

    Thanks.

    Kathy,

Here is a picture. It is just a plastic expandable cord with a latch on one end and a ring on the other. We just went in the casino the first day onboard and the attendants will give them to you free and punch a hole in your sign and sail card and put the ring thru it too.

  8. My first cruise was out of Miami on the Costa Flavia!. But that's not the mistake. We had a great time. We were cruising with a pretty large group, some had driven and some flew in. One of the fliers had rented a car. We spent a couple of nights in Miami Beach before the cruise. The morning of the cruise we checked out and spent a couple of hours driving around sight seeing. We stopped at a strip mall in the Coral Gables/Coconut Grove area to pick up a few last minute items, and everyone in the car locked their doors. Of course the driver had left the keys in there too. Well this was before cell phones, so we had no way to get in touch with the others in our group. So we had to get with the rental car company, they sent a locksmith and it seemed like it took forever. Then we still had to drop the car off at Miami International, and get a cab back to the port. We were very literally pier runners, the last ones on! Never again.

  9. My wife and I had a wonderful day there in March. As others have said the beach is small but clean and quiet, the grounds and hotel are very nice. Not crowded at all and this was a during a spring break period with 4 ships in port. We had good food and drink service on the beach with no problems. As to the food/drink credit, we each had a burger or wrap with fries and slaw @ $ 15.00 each, and each had a couple of tasty refreshments that were $ 9.00 or 10 each. They do add on 15% so that used up most of the $ 80 voucher, so there was a little left which went to the server. Food was very good and the drinks were probably the best we had all week. Hope you enjoy your day!

  10. Woke up Thursday after another good nights sleep to find we were already docking in Nassau. Had a quick breakfast up on Lido deck, grabbed our beach bag and headed off. We had purchased day passes at the British Colonial Hilton which is just a short walk from the pier. We were checked in and on the beach by 9:30 AM.

The weather was so-so with some clouds, some sun and a few sprinkles. But we had a relaxing morning. The hotel beach is relatively small and pretty quiet. The passes($ 60 each) include beach and pool access, towels and chairs, and $ 40 worth of food and drink, which was enough for each of us to have a couple of drinks and lunch right on the beach, and leave a nice tip for Omar who took very good care of us. DW discovered her new favorite drink, the Banana Daiquiri. We hung out until early afternoon, but when a shower came thru we decided to head back to port. We shopped in the straw market and a couple of stores and took a bottle of rum and a rum cake back to the ship. By then the sun was out again and we went up to Serenity and spent the last few hours before we left Nassau at 5. Some pictures as we set sail:

We had another wonderful dinner in the Jubilee MDR. We were seated at a table for 10, but 2 nights we only had 2 other couples with us, 2 nights only 1 other couple, and 1 night it was only the 2 of us. Santos and his team were wonderful to us and had lots of time to chat and laugh. After dinner we went to the comedy show, which we really enjoyed.

Here is the critter of the day:

  11. Enjoying your review and photos so far. Thanks for taking the time to do this review. We just returned from the 5 day cruise on March 8, the day you set sail. We hope to maybe do the 7 day in the future. A couple of questions... You said they had Punchliner brunch with a comedian? We had Sea Day Brunch two days and never saw anything about comedy? Also very surprised the waiters didn't sing and dance, they put on a show every night on our cruise. We ate in the Jubilee and they were great. Did you leave the table early? They do this during dessert. Just curious and thanks again!

  12. After a few hours on the beach we moved up to a couple of loungers under an umbrella near the pool shown above. The resort is very nice, there are 3 or 4 pools that meander around with loungers where you can sit in the sun or shade. There is a bar at the beach, hot tub, and hammocks. There are several restaurants/grills/cafes on the property. I had asked a security guy where to get some good conch, and he recommended Billy Joe's, which is a short walk down the beach. So we hiked down there and I had my authentic Bahamian experience with a conch burger, fries, and a cold Kalik sitting on a table on the beach. DW wasn't as happy because the music was very loud, but by the time we got back to the pool and the beach bar and she had a mango daiquiri, all was forgiven:

We spent a couple of hours after lunch enjoying the beautiful day until it was time to load up and catch the taxi back to the port. We did a little shopping in the market area before getting back on the ship. Cleaned up for dinner, where we had the table to ourselves so the service was particularly exceptional.

After dinner we relaxed for a while and then spent some time in the piano bar enjoying Kyle playing and everyone singing along. After a long day of sun and fun we returned to our cabin and met steward Gregorio's latest creation:
