  1. I finally found an answer on a thread on the UK cruise critic that suggested using the web-based version of the app https://www.princess.com/plan/oceanready/ I was able to see dining options and make reservations in that way. A few days later, my regular app on my iPhone seemed to unglitch a little. It still shows "check back closer" if I click explore dining options, but day-by-day it allows me to make reservations. It must be hard to keep the app running smoothly when everyone has such different experiences using it. One person's totally useless is another person's it worked just fine. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions and let's hope this is the worst thing that happens for the whole cruise 😜
  2. We, too, have the drink package. And I'm sure, very sure, I will never hit the 15 drink max. But it's nice to know that I can hedge a little bit with happy hour in the lounge 🙃
  3. Did anyone ever figure out the issue when this happens? I'm all paid up, green-laned for boarding, for our February 2023 cruise. People on my facebook group have had no issues booking dining. But everything I click in the app related to any kind of dining - explore options, add reservation, view menu - all lead to the "check back closer to cruise" screen. I've deleted app and reinstalled, signed in and out, restarted phone. So frustrated.
  4. Perfect - this is exactly what I was hoping. Thank you!
  5. Sorry if this has been answered a million times and I just couldn't find it: In the suite concierge lounge, am I correct that there are (alcoholic) drinks served in the evening? And if so, are these included as part of the experience or are they charged against the room/drink package? I'm trying to figure out if it's worthwhile to plan a pre-dinner linger in the lounge, like on Royal Caribbean, or if we are better off heading to a bar or just drinking our own wine in the room. Will be on Enchanted if that matters. Thanks for any insight!
  6. ATL is huge and you will most likely have to take a tram to switch terminals. As long as your flight lands on time, you should be ok. But if you are delayed, it can be dicey. I fly delta a lot, and have more than once had to actually run to make a connection in ATL that should have been "enough" time. I hate when they "help me out" by tightening my connection time. It may be worth looking online to see when the next flight runs. Even if you opt not to call and ask to be switched, it always makes me calmer to know that if I do miss a connection, there is another flight they can put me on. Often, though, I call and point out that this is not my choice, and if there is another flight they will switch me at no charge. YMMV And pasodancer is right, you want to be as close to the door as possible. You can lose a ton of time waiting on people who do not have tight connections to deplane.
  7. Steve is great - we've insured with him for years @moposhIt's my understanding that if you buy the insurance from the cruise line, it only covers the cruise. So if you had an issue that prevented you from getting to the ship to take the cruise, you are not covered at all. For example, the weather this spring that prevented some folks from getting to PC from up north, when the flights were all cancelled. The airlines refunded the ticket but I know of at least one person who had only RC insurance and lost the cost of the cruise he could not get to. Steve always describes his coverage as "from the minute you leave the driveway"
  8. Thank you! Your experience is exactly what I'm hoping for! And what a smart idea about the water. We will definitely copy you on that!
  9. I've been watching a bunch of Tik Toks lately that tag Enchanted Princess. They make it look like if you're on your balcony and order a drink, a server will show up with that drink and hand it to you while you lounge. I'm fairly certain that they do not actually let themselves into the cabin and deliver the drink to the balcony, correct? And assuming they have to knock and you have to answer, how have your experiences been with delivery times? We will be in an aft cabin with a nice balcony that I am imagining I will be spending a good bit of time on. So if I suddenly "need" a margarita, do I order it and then go sit in the cabin until it shows up? Is there a way to track the progress, kind of like with Amazon's "your package is three stops away" ? These are the silly things I think about when my cruise is still a few months away and all the real planning is done🤪 But I really would be interested in how people have utilized this newish service.
  10. @Esjung1 and @barbpretz THANK YOU so much for your positive comments! We are on Enchanted in February, along with friends who we are introducing to cruising. I had begun to despair with the bad experiences people were sharing. I'm so hopeful that there were glitches when she first got back to the US and that it will be, literally and figuratively, smooth sailing going forward. You've bolstered that hope! One more question - how was the internet service?
  11. This is helpful info. How far ahead did you book it? Last time I sailed Princess was before the app, and we just had a card in our suite telling us what time and where they had reserved for us.
