The Sunshine is one of my favorite ships. The Serenity area is fantastic, we love the comedy club and the food/service is usually pretty good.
I actually did see someone turned away during Elegant night last year - some guy came dragging up in shorts and a dirty white tank top. They politely sent him on his way, lol.

As soon as we stepped into the atrium on the Sunshine they were pointing the way to the muster station. Two minutes later we were done! So much better than it used to be.

Do you recall what the tram cost? Is there anything else to do? Resort fees seem pretty high
for what it includes.
The tram is free. There didn't seem a whole lot to do besides hang out on the beach, honestly.
-
Yep, there's a free beach right at the end of the pier. The tram will stop there if you don't want to make that long walk, also.

We were on that one. Out of 14 cruises, definitely the worst weather we've been in. Why sail right into the middle of a storm (that you KNOW is there) and basically park while the ship gets tossed around like a toy in a bathtub? I didn't mind being late, but how about sit somewhere in the ocean where the storm isn't?
We had a 6th floor balcony and at some point in the middle of the night I saw waves higher than my window. When we were hit with a really bad one, the balcony door flew open and everything on the tables was knocked to the floor. I had to grab onto the mattress to keep from being flung to the floor too, lol. No information on the TV, so all we could do was hang on and wait it out. Not fun.

Enjoying your review, this is a cruise I wanted to go on back then but couldn't make it happen. 😊

April was cancelled, August was cancelled, now my September booking has been cancelled.
I give up on this year, I'll rebook something for January and cross my fingers. 😒

Charleston is a nice city, if you already have airfare booked you could just vacation there in the city and surrounding areas. At least it'd be a vacation.
We're only an hour and a half away, we usually just drive down the morning of the cruise. But you're right, we could just hang out in Charleston if it comes down to it, there's plenty to do.
-
Well crap. I'm booked on the Sunshine out of Charleston for Sept. 28th after having earlier cruises cancelled twice...at this point I don't know whether my husband should even bother locking in the time off from work. 😕

Will I need one on Magic?
Yes, the Magic has the new system. We just stuck a piece of paper in there, worked fine.
-
We were on the Magic a couple weeks ago and yes, they still did the animals.

I love it! As soon as those people get back, I'll be embarking. :D
Same here, can't wait! :D:D

We watched a guy scrubbing his feet with a pumice stone in the hot tub. Nasty. Needless to say, we avoided that one for the rest of the cruise.

MDR for me! It's where I can have eggs benedict, corned beef hash and pineapple juice. The breakfast of champions!
That is my exact favorite breakfast, too! Add a few sweet things from the bread basket and I'm ready to go. :D:D
On early port days we do the buffet, I usually get a big bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and nuts, a bit of bacon, and some fruit.

Another vote for Half Moon Cay. Simply gorgeous.
Runner up favorites: Governor's beach (Grand Turk), St. Catherine's beach (Bermuda), South Friars beach (St. Kitts), and Tabyana beach (Honduras).

We got off the Sunshine last week also, loved the ship (2nd time we've cruised on her). They did say in one of the comedy shows that they were going to redo the Limelight (comedy club) when they put the Sunshine into drydock, which is a good thing. The setup has alway been horrible in there.
Hubby says the gym stayed busy, but never so much that you couldn't get on any machines or treadmills.

This was on the Dream a few years back. We headed out to the hot tub about mid-morning, wanting to beat the crowd. Put our stuff down, went to get in...and saw this clown scrubbing his nasty feet with a pumice stone in the freaking hot tub.
Haven't been in one since.

Headed to Charleston where we board her tomorrow! *happy dance* :D

We took the 3:30 ferry back, and got to the terminal right at 3. There was a line already but it wasn't ridiculous.

I don't know about swim shoes, but I sure got my behind stuck when I first when down the slide on the Ecstasy. Don't try and slow yourself down before the end, you'll get stuck.

A bottle of One Drop for the bathroom. DH loves the stuff, and it lasts forever.

A coworker of mine did 5 in one cabin once...he said it was miserable. Just not enough room for everyone to move around comfortably.
