  1. Hi,

Going on northbound cruise in May, ending in Seward.

Ship docks at 5:30 AM, not sure what time we would disembark, this is our first cruise.

We originally thought we'd take the train and head up to Anchorage, but if I'm reading the train schedule correctly, there is only 1 train at 6:00PM to Anchorage. Could that be?

We aren't sure if we are staying the night in Anchorage yet, making air line reservations next week.

Not if I want to hang around in Seward until 6:00, any other suggestions to getting to Anchorage? I thought the train ride would be nice and we'd see a lot more.

Thanks for your help, I'll be posting quite often since I'm s newbie... :)

  2. Hi,

I'm currently booked on a cruise heading north Van to Seward in May on Celebrity. First cruise

We're not planning on doing a land tour once getting to Seward and planning on flying out the same day.

My question is, is there anything to see while cruising Hubbard Glacier to Seward?

    Thanks

    D

  3. We're leaving from NY

The ship is scheduled to leave the dock at 4:30.. So I'm assuming we have to be their the latest 3:00.

I went on the Celebrity air site and they recommend the same flights that I was looking at. Which land between 12:00 and 12:30.

If we did come the same day, how do you usually get to the port?

  4. Hi,

Booked our first cruise and it will be Alaska. Hubby and I are going the last week in May. :)

I still need to book airfare. Quick question.

We're planning on trying to get a flight out the same say we are departing from Vancouver. We're low on vacation days...

If the plane lands an 12:00 do you think it will be enough time to get to the ship by 2:00?

What's the best way to get to the dock from Vancover airport? Taxi? Is there a shuttle company to use?

I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions the next few months, so thanks in advance for all of your help, much appreciated.

  5. Hi,

Trying to plan a cruise to Alaska the last week in May. This is our first cruise. Both of us are in our late 50s.

We want to do a one way, doesn't matter which way, or does it?:)

Have been researching all weekend and I think we've decided on either Celebrity or Princess... The problem is:

Celebrity does not seem to go by Glacier Park but they stop at Icy Strait point.

On Princess northbound they pass Glacier Bay Park but no Hubbard glacier.

On Princess southbound they do both Hubbard and Glacier Park but no icy Striat.

We can't decide which would be the best itinerary... By reading the posts here it seems like glacier bay park shouldn't be missed! but we were leaning towards Celebrity...

From your experiences which would be your pick? Thank you
