Now, all we need is an app. Costa just introduced one that includes a way to text others on the ship. This would be useful for our cruise with the kids this summer.

I visited a local TA while planning my next cruise. They offered no benefits, the same pricing as I could get online and seemed like I was inconveniencing them by coming in the office. I drove home and booked online that afternoon.
I really need to find a friendly and service oriented TA. I starting to wish my mom didn't retire.

I bought some cheep ones off Amazon, primarily for the kids. They have a tendency to put things down and then forget to pick them back up before moving on.

Are you saying you found where the pre-cruise emails should be listed and there are none or that you have not found where they should be listed?
The pre-cruise emails should be at the bottom of the documents page. The section is there, but the individual emails have disappeared.

Only a few issues so far.
- My pre-cruise emails have disappeared.
- Links on the document page are broken.
- Link to gifts and services order form is broken.
Beyond that, I like the new layout.

What airport are you talking about, FLL, PBI, MIA?
National/Alamo have a rental car shuttle that picks you up right at the ship and takes you to rental car center at FLL. The rental cars at FLL are "on-airport" so no need for a drop off at the airport when you return.
I was talking about FLL. The OP was talking about Port Everglades, so I was piggy-backing on that. Sorry for the confusion, I was finishing my taxes when I thought to post this.

We have about 10 hours between disembarkation and the time we need to be at the airport. I'm looking for a rental car company that will pick up from the pier and, after I return the rental, drop us off at the airport. Anyone have any suggestions? I'd rather skip a taxi ride, if possible.

It depends on contracts. We just saw a full list for our June cruise last week (105 days out)

The Ruby's 2008 (according to a website that you can't name on here but gives all the built years for the current ships). Royal last year and Regal this year.
This is correct. Ruby was introduced in November 2008. We were on the third sailing over Thanksgiving.

I did not book with the EZAir service due to the prices, since any price difference would be multiplied by four for my family. I found it cheaper for us to fly in a day or two early, to ensure that we were in town in plenty of time.
Not quite the answer you were looking for, but it is another option.

Not real Travelers Cheques which are paper, not plastic debit cards.
I think the comment was a comparison about the frequency of use of Traveller's Cheques in comparision to payphone. Neither are seen or used much in present times.

Does anyone know exactly where the cameras are located? I'd like to be able to wave to family at the right time in case one of the cameras is facing us.
Cameras 2 and 3 are located on the Pier 66 building. Camera one is at the base of the condos right next to the channel leaving the port.

Seriously looking at a Christmas cruise on Caribbean Princess today and it says "In order to present the correct deck plan, please tell us when you plan to sail....Sailing between now and May 15, 2014 or Sailing after May 15, 2014". If they are just going to scrape and paint, why would that affect the deck plans????
I saw that the other day, but couldn't find anything different between the two deck plans. I even put them up side-by-side on my 2 monitors, but nothing stood out.

Glad to hear that your DW is getting better.
The same thing happened to us last year. A week before our vacation my daughter broke her wrist and ankle playing soccer. The ankle required surgery and vacation had to be rescheduled. Luckily, it was all land based and we were able to reschedule the hotels and other planned events without problem.
Since then, whenever planning a trip that has a cancellation policy like cruises, airlines, etc, I will always buy insurance. I'm no longer in the, young, invincible, "nothing will happen to change my plans" phase of life.

What ship please
Their signature shows they are on the Ruby.

I have a question. My sister and I are leaving on sunday on the royal princess for a 7 day cruise. My husband gave me this for valentines day. He is staying behind to take care of our 5 kids. My question is ( is there any way to keep some type of contact with them?) I have a lap top I also have a iphone. I have read you can buy internet time but how does that work?
Internet access is on a per-minute basis.
What is the cost? There are different packages with different costs. The more minutes you purchase, the cheaper the rate per minute is. You can see the pre-purchased rates are the following link:
http://www.princess.com/learn/onboard/gifts_services/communications/index.jsp
where do you purchase it on the ship or before? You can buy onboard or you can buy before by gifting it to yourself. Just call Princess and tell them you would like to purchase some gift items. Make sure you have your booking number.
do you take your own laptop or go to an internet type bar onboard? You can use your own laptop or iPhone. There are computers available, but they are limited in number and rather slow.

You can watch the sail-aways on www.portevergladeswebcam.com.
On the bottom of the page, there is a way to request for them to zoom in on you. You will need to provide them with the location you will be in, as well as a way to identify you (flag, banner, etc).
The camera that they zoom with is in the bottom left corner of the 10? story (yellow/beige) condo complex on the port side of the ship as you leave port.

I just compared the two different deck plans and there is no noticable difference between the two time periods. Maybe they are still working on the update.

Where do I find the section to mark my reservation as "do not upgrade"?
We are doing a girls only cruise in April (first time on Princess) and we have three rooms all together. We do not wish to be moved. However, i just saw this thread and went into my reservation and cannot find anywhere asking about an upgrade option???
Call your TA, or Princess if you booked directly with them, and ask them to put a "No Upgrade" marker on your three cabins.
Understand, this is a request, not a guarantee.
-
Thanks all for confirming what I thought! Next question - Who do I call? I didn't book through Princess - do I still call them? I booked online.
If you booked through Princess online, call Princess. If it was an online travel agent, look in your records for a contact number.

While technically an upgrade, I think that it isn't a good move. You lose the balcony space, but you do gain a bit better location. If you are looking forward to the space, see if you ca decline the upgrade.

If the ship is at terminal 2 or 4, it is about a half of a mile walk. If the ship is docked elsewhere, you better get a taxi.

I grew up in Hollywood and used to work at a Publix Supermarket there. I loved working Sunday mornings as we would have a couple of shopping carts off to the side to return alcohol to the shelves when people tried to buy before noon.
Wow! New Cruise Personalizer Layout

The "Documents" button is just above the button for the Lotus Spa reservations.
The passport info can be added by clicking the Passenger Check-In button.
